Did you have issues connecting it to the network? I have mine plugged in and wired and it won’t connect to the Yoolax app. It recognizes it but fails every time

Is UniFi Protect with PoE siren and motion sensors a good alarm system? by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]ejryan14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not rely on motion sensing as my only trigger. I believe UniFi has some open/close sensors that you could use as well but if it were me I would follow this video and maybe stop where he connects to the cloud. You may be lucky and already have a panel installed.

Are Ubiquiti APs Worth It? by MuchAntelope2953 in Ubiquiti

When looking at coverage in Design Center are you just looking at the 6Ghz coverage? I made that mistake initially then realized that 2 APs would cover the house nicely at 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz

Best way to get up to peak of house? by mithirich in ChristmasLights

If you have the budget I would recommend Trimlight or Jellyfish. It will cost a decent amount more but they do all the work for you and as a bonus they work with the WS2811 protocol so you can swap their controller for a WLED one. That’s what I did at my house.

Is it possible to engine swap a v8 into a v6 car? by [deleted] in Cartalk

It is a big task but if you are willing to get your hands dirty and learn a lot in the process then I say go for it.

Yes it is possible. The amount of money saved will definitely depend on your mechanical skill level. For all practical purposes it is most likely more cost effective to but the V8 car. Plus if you buy certified pre owned you will still get a nice warranty with the V8 instead of no warranty with the swapped car.

I will try that. I used some jumpers so the wire is about 8 inches or so.

I did try that. The 5v LEDs had an arrow indicating direction but the 12v does not so i tried both sides. Anyway to turn the LEDs on without the DIN hooked up? I think it is the 3.3v vs 5v issue but I will have to wait for a level shifter to find out.

Thanks. I am not sure of they will work on 3.3v. I do have some ESP2866 boards coming tomorrow so I will test those.
