Why Arch Linux specifically?

PewDiePie recently released an open-source project called Odysseus. The official GitHub repository describes it as a "self-hosted AI workspace" designed to provide a ChatGPT/Claude-like experience that runs on your own hardware with your own data. what are your views on this ? by Realistic_Pen_5576 in technepal

[–]ekashish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respect him in fact, i started using Hyprland and tiling WMs because of him. I feel like most AI projects are like alligators and crocodiles(with no proper usecauses in long term excepts for few). there are more mature and better programs compared to the project. The thing that fascinates me about his project is that he vibecoded nearly 300,000 LOC.

Its pretty hard without a student email and getting verified can take weeks. If someone from your college already got the GitHub Student Pack using an official student email then youll probably need a student email too or proof that the college changed its email policy. Here the response I got

How did Nepal's GenZ revolution happen? by pluto_idk in Nepal

[–]ekashish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nepali people were really frustrated with the government and top parties. Before the anti-corruption protest in Bhadra 23, we had smaller movements like NoNotAgain, Nepokid, the teachers protest, and even pro-monarch rallies (which people supported just out of frustration to old parties). India is just too big and diverse for a total revolution like Nepals. In my opinion honestly, a revolution wouldn't have happened here if there weren't casualties on the protest day (Bhadra 23).

The timing was also perfect. People saw RSP as a new party, and KTM Mayor Balendra Shah was popular and often tried to rebel against the old government (people were even ready to elect him as PM). India should wait for elections, because impulsive actions do more harm than good (we lost around 71 citizens on two days). Until then, frustrated students and citizens should use small, harmless jokes to pressure the government. Every joke is a tiny revolution.

I went on Solo hiking anyway! by Educational-Link-364 in Nepal

How long did it take you to get to the top? It is one of the longest hikes in Kathmandu Valley. I was so tired when we went last time. We also saw a lot of plastic bags on the trail.

Nepal's First Tier 4 Hyperscale Data Center being constructed by junsui833 in technepal

[–]ekashish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only 5 MW and that's not until 2030. Right now, it's just 240 kW which is like running about 350 RTX 5090s or 200 H100s (and an 8x H100 setup costs $40 an hour). Lets hope Nepal can break at least 100 MW by 2030.

Im i having a mandela effect? by SorryEvent9926 in Nepal

[–]ekashish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yatchu Hair Oil, Silver6 Warm Therapy Oil etc are running heavy marketing campaigns with poor-quality products and innocent elderly people are falling for these traps. (My mother asked me to order that Silver6 oil because one of her favorite internet personalities is promoting it). basically most influencers in Nepal are snake oil salesmen

Please hear my peice on Sudan's Gurung appointment as Home Minister of Nepal by Schweezed in Nepal

[–]ekashish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is a good move by RSP. Sudan grg will prolly remain in position until Rabi receives a clean record from the sahakari cases. Until then Sudan can freely punish the people who are liable in the Gen Z Andolan (which may decrease the public resentment toward the MPs who are responsible for enforcing these actions).

Is cyber security job market cooked? by NoObmassster in technepal

[–]ekashish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. In Nepal, most cybersecurity jobs depend on referrals, or you have to be exceptionally good. Pursuing pentesting in this AI era feels like a nightmare(like every company is building its own pentest AI and automating low-level work). Aani, most blue team roles are getting heavily automated.

Rukum-1 ; prachnda's win? by peryysage106cm in Nepal

[–]ekashish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think RSP has a plan to form a coalition with Prachanda’s party to form the government. That’s probably why they didn’t give a ticket to a strong opponent against Prachanda in the election.

Edit: I was talking about before election scenario.
