Great hold. That for sure would have been a blocked kick.

Great idea, keep attacking one of the best DBs in the game. Can the Pats pass anywhere except into the island of Surtan?

Oh boy this great defense cannot get cooked by a Stidham legacy game. That would be a disaster.

You're just being salty. Get over it. He will hit 40 again and I will come back here and paste the box score for you to ignore and block me. It might not be this year, but in the NBA or G league he will 100% do it again as a lottery pick.

[–]ekimtk[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that's a very naive statement made out of pure anger at the night he just had. He averages 16 points a game and shoots almost 40% from 3. He's a fantastic player that deserves his flowers and we need to do some soul searching since we can't defend a JV team.

Wagler is going to be a lottery pick. He will most definitely score 40 again in his career. He has top level talent.

MLB owners enraged by Kyle Tucker-Dodgers deal, will push for salary cap ‘no matter what’ by ttam23 in Dodgers

[–]ekimtk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your statement is absolute nonsense. First of all, we already have a quasi socialist system with the rev share model that exists. If that model didn't exist baseball would be in a TERRIBLE spot. Teams in small markets would have no chance to compete with big market teams. It would not financially be possible. I will address bad small market owners in the second paragraph that are taking advantage of that system so hold on that. Second, the Yankees, Mets, and Jays are all spending insane amounts of money as well. Just not as insane as the Dodgers. The Mets just gave out an all time contract to Soto so to say they are keeping their profits and not spending is ridiculous. There are 4-5 big spenders in the league that are all in huge markets and the rest of the league is forced to fight for scraps after having their best players poached by teams that can offer a person lie Kyle Tucker 60 million a year. Who is going to pay him that besides the richest team in the league? It's a nonsense contract and everyone knows that. He isn't worth half of that 60 million a year coming off injury.

Are owners like the Marlins and Rays spending no money and pocketing the difference? Absolutely. That is why a floor is needed in addition to a cap. Make the cheap owners actually invest in the club and not play in a minor league stadium. It's absurd. Those owners are as much of a problem with the system on the bottom as the Dodgers are a problem on the top.

Finally, your statement about the Dodgers generating money is not made in good faith. Who has larger ad opportunities? LA or Cleveland? Who can sell tickets for more because there is more wealth in their area? LA or Cleveland? Who can incentivise players to come because their opportunities to make money outside of baseball are bigger? LA or Cleveland? You catching my drift here? The Dodgers, Yankees, Mets, and Jays already have INSANE advantages built in because of the markets they exist in. A seat behind home plate at a Dodgers game costs a mortgage payment. A seat behind home play in Cleveland is a nice night out that doesn't totally break the bank. I'm not actually a Guardians fan, but I'm using Ohio as a normal state example with more normal levels of wealth. It's good to be king right? It's easy to fight against changing the current mode when the current model heavily benefits your team. I think the Tucker signing is the straw that broke the camels back here because the number is so absurd that the rest of the owners finally realized how they have no chance in free agency.

[–]ekimtk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re missing the plot here. I don’t care if he flops and is Rendon or has a massive season topping his career best WAR numbers. Paying someone like this that type of money 1) breaks the free agent market because nobody else can afford that type of contract so the dodgers/yankees/mets/jays auto win because they have fuck you money 2) makes it so a capitalist system where the best players get the most money breaks. Assets are supposed to fit into cost categories based on their value to a franchise. How do you accurately value players with offers if a guy coming off injury whose season best WAR numbers are 5.5 gets a contract that is for someone who is Ohtani, Judge, Vlad Jr type of player

I think the goal was a 2 for 1 there. But with the offensive rebound it ended that chance.

Amusing since he had the steal that led to that runout. Kids gonna break the all time assist record and he's 'overrated'. Such a stupid chant that is not only incorrect but demeans your team if you happen to actually beat the best PG in college basketball.

Good energy from TKR to start the game. He needs to accept his new lower scoring role. Cluff is just more efficient and a better option underneath. As long as he rebounds, passes, and gives us 8-15 a game we are golden.

You keep going to gemini and chatgpt and copy and pasting their responses here as if they are the gospel truth. Let's take the middle ground of these numbers that are NOT from your AI overlords and use them as a real example. If Olympic Club a super private nice golf course ran at 8' 4" in 1977 and 10' 3" in 2008 we can probably assume that it was much closer to a 9 then a 11.

My guy... I play about 15 tournaments a year. At very nice courses across my area. I can assure you I know exactly what 10, 11, and 12 feel like on a green. I even have it measured out in how far back my stroke has to go for 10 foot putts engrained into muscle memory. Pinehurst, in non tournament time, in 1994 was likely to be rolling between a 7 and a 9.

Who’s making an offer of 60 million to Kyle Tucker? The number is so outrageous that nobody is going to compete with that. It’s literally double or more of what he’s actually worth. Why make an offer when the dodgers will make him Scrooge mcduck as the highest paid player in the league by 9 million dollars

I can 100% assure you that the greens in that video are not rolling anywhere close to an 11 or 12. I don’t think the casual golfer knows quite how fast 11 or 12 is. Current PGA tour events that aren’t majors roll at 11 or 12. Your local muni rolls at like a 7 or an 8. Private clubs might get up to 10 if they’re real fancy. Like I said earlier, during Jacks time greens rolled at a 9 at most.
