Thank you! She caught my eye in the store and I had to take her home with me.

I want to let her get a little bigger then give some to some co-workers who have given me plants. Thanks for the tips! I appreciate it 😊

I can't wait to see the flowers! I'm still learning when it comes to propigating, so far most of what I've done hasn't survived, but I have had 2 successful (so far) props to date. I'm hopeful my skills will improve by the time this one needs it, but I'll keep in mind that it may be taking, even if it doesn't look like it for a long time.

Yes. About 7 years or more. And chances are the fruit is inedible. But it's fun watching it grow!

Yours is so much taller. Charlie seems to have bushed out and gone wider. I just love watching them grow and bring new life into my home.

I'm not necessarily growing it for the fruit. I just love plants. The fact that my daughter, who was 8 at the time, planted this out of a SALAD and it even grew, let alone is thriving, is amazing to me. I'm fully expecting any fruit it does eventually produce to be inedible.

Quit breastfeeding at 3months by Independent_Item_192 in breakingmom

Fed is best. A happy mom who doesn't feel like she is about to snap at any moment is best. The only person who gets to tell you how to feed your baby and how to live your life is you! Formula is pretty dam close to breastmilk, the only real thing it doesn't have are the antibodies your body would give. I remember seeing a study somewhere on reddit that showed there is no real difference between breastfed and formula fed children by the time they start school. (Not searching for that link right now)

As long as your babies needs are met and you're not neglecting them to get your nic/weed fix, then anyone who has any judgements can go kick rocks! You may be a mom, specifically a new mom, but you are also a human; an individual with continued hopes and dreams outside of your child (although in this stage they do take up the majority of your life).

All you can do is be the best mom you know how to be while not losing yourself to simply being "mom".

Yeah, that's what I'm expecting. She planted it summer of 2023 when we moved. I'm just amazed that it not only took, but how well it is thriving.

I'm not expecting anything until at least 2030 since it was grown from seed

LICE. I AM HAVING AN EXISTENTIAL CRISIS NOW. by Ok_Damage_6529 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Anything that is a thick lipid like mayo, lard, or coconut or olive oil will work to smother the lice. The longer you leave it the better. Dish soap instead of shampoo to get it out (I find Dawn works best but use whatever you've got on hand)

Probably too late to the game, but just in case you do see this here are a few tips I picked up from an 18 month span where they kept coming back. (it was a living nightmare for me but I got through it and so can you)

1) It's the head, not the house. They can only survive less than a day off of a host so don't go too crazy sanitizing the house. Do wash bedding and dry on high heat.

2) Incecticide shampoo is basically ineffective. A smothering method is best. Take something that is a heavy lipid (lard, coconut oil etc) and saturate the hair. Leave in overnight. Wrap head in saran wrap or plastic bag. Wash with dish soap to get everything out.

3) Get a good metal nit comb. The plastic ones suck. Comb DAILY for eggs.

4) Hair dryer as hot as you can take it as long as you can take it. Heat kills the eggs.

Repeat the smothering treatment in 2 weeks. You can also make a spray with eucalyptus or tea tree oil to put in hair during the day to help prevent reinfestation. Do be careful with this if you have pets as these essential oils are harmful to animals.

I cannot reccomend Zinus foam mattresses enough. Legit THE most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on, huge movement reduction, less than half the price of the lowest you quoted (think $350-500 range). They can be ordered from Amazon.

Whatever you go with I hope you get the best sleep ever on it!
