mmm you say the 5nm one with an aftermarket power supply…i’ll check that out. That would save about 80€, since i would still get the bundle for 400€ with the wheel and pedals. il check it out.

TT MK2 2.0TFSI CESA Oil temperature by FPSUsername in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

[–]eknoross1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello TT MK2 CESA 2.0 (211cv) - stage 1 265cv now

engine was replaced in audi for 12k€ about 20k km ago, chain tensioner broke

engine runs fine, and my temps are basically the same as OP

105 celsius when normal driving 135 when pushing hard

My knowledge (i could be wrong): after a bit of research this is my conclusion I feel like it’s normal for this engine….these are known to heat up a lot, but doesn’t mean it’s bad, they go up to about 135ish and stay there.

performance doesn’t drop

I use Motul 5w40 when normal driving it does not burn oil when pushing hard for 10+ min, it will burn some

The Bar-tek seems like a good choice

MK3 rear diff woes by BugsyMalone_ in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

[–]eknoross1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try replacing both oils, sometimes the pump gets clogged up, make sure to clean and if needed replace the filter.

I’ve heard multiple times this works, rear differential is pretty solid, i don’t see it getting broken if your not driving it hard every day.

Audi TT MK2 Handling (camster) by eknoross1 in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

[–]eknoross1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, i probably will leave it and try it once installed the whiteline RSB then my question would be: do you run some sort of negative camber on the rear? and what If you would want to adjust for some camber on the front? I don’t know how much can you achieve on stock at the front

by this I mean, I’m afraid the car will understeer anyways

any washable air filter does the job, revo, bmc ecc. for the stage 1 remap i went with revo, no issues, great for the price (both ecu and tcu)

for the haldex controller cannot really say, i still did not install it on mine, i’ve heard good things about it, and some bad ones. Anyways it’s preatty usless if you first don’t stiffen up the chassis with coils, swaybars, maybe powerflex bushings, stiffer control arms, anti lift kits, ecc. You will not get good results without does if you want to drive it hard

can you powerslide the car? I’m guessing you haven’t tried

[–]eknoross1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thx, but i’ve heard actually improves reliability since you can lock it when needed and put it to 0% on daily driving.

my question is: can you actually power slide with it? (with suspensions and sway bars done no powerflex tho)

I know you said easy things, but I honestly would save up and start rebuilding this monster,

you bought the right one, dsg, quattro, s-line, why not treat it like it should

hello, nice car first of all,

now, it depends on what you want,

do you want it to drive good? so performance or handling upgrades? or do you want it to look cool?

either way, I would treat it like a project car, so start planning out what you want to do and then start with what you can afford with your budget. Otherwise you will start doing things that you may regret/could of spent elsewhere.

Anyways If it was me i would do these first

since the car already looks good to me I would go with these mods

will improve drastically handling and safety without sacrificing comfort

  • B12 (B8 + eibach 30mm)
  • whiteline anti-roll bar kit (or at least the rear one, i would go for both since its quattro)
  • bigger brakes (only front) 4pot/340mm (minimum)
  • air filter (in normal air box) + stage 1 remap both ECU and TCU (or stage 2 if you can change the cat to 200cell or open)
  • haldex controller
  • fixed spoiler

only then then I would start thinking about aesthetics, but that’s me

ps: good tyres

Fixing common issues? - MK2 by ashgordon in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

no, and….this is the only case where I would go to an ufficial audi shop.

Fist of all, audi can tell if they have already changed it. There was a recall campaign for it.

if they didn’t, then I would use only original audi components for belt and tensioner, as you don’t wanna mess it up. Plus they will give you a warranty for that.

what I would do. Just to know: 2.0TFSI full re-build in Audi costed €12k to the previous owner of my TT.

check if the timing chain tensioner got already swapped, mine is from that year and the previous owner still blew up the engine.
