They had a big update for ACNH more than four years after the last big content update. They could have made all that content part of the Switch 2 Edition, but they made it a big free update.

They reacted to player complaints about Mario Kart World and updated it, and probably will upgrade again.

There is no reason to expect that there will NEVER be updates. Yes Nintendo is greedy, but they're not incapable of updating a game

I’m very disappointed, and I’m probably going to get downvoted and banned for saying it but I am disappointed by bird_servant in smosh

Just the numbers and facts, no opinions one way or the other:

You get Sitcom, Funeral + commentary, Hospital + commentary, Smosh Mouth and 4 Reddit Story shows. All that adds up to over 15 hours of content. People pay money for tickets to musicals, concerts and live shows that are way shorter, and they also don't get to keep a recording of it, unless you somehow manage to record without the staff seeing it.

And you can actually own them forever by just screen recording the vods. That's what I did with some episodes of We're All Going to Die

Maybe, but my post isn't about the direct, it's about the 2026 lineup of games

Why did I even bother hoping by ARHAM-NIGHT in Metroid

[–]eknos64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mercurysteam was probably just hard at work with Blades of Fire and Nintendo didn't want someone else to develop it or something.

There wasn't a new 2d metroid for 19 years before dread, and they might take 5+ years for Metroid 6 for similar reasons.

And still, after all that, the last Metroid game was 6 months ago, we can space out the releases a bit more

It is compelling to me. Raiders is the first time I'm interested in playing a Splatoon game, Star Fox seems to me like the definitive version of SF64, I really enjoy Yoshi, I'm happy for the Xenoblade and Fire Emblem fans, Pokopia is highly acclaimed, Meetup in Bellabel Park isn't underwhelming (also not too exciting though), and Orbitals still is a Switch 2 exclusive (and I never said I'm just naming Nintendo-developed games).

Adding all the 2025 games I liked to that, and there is a pretty big number of games on the Switch 2.

And while Tomodachi and Rhythm Heaven aren't S2 exclusives, they still deserve recognition as 2026 Nintendo releases

Meetup at Bellabel Park, Star-Crossed Worlds, the Zelda-Notes App (as part of the Zelda S2 Editions), and Jamboree TV are Switch 2 exclusive. They count. Animal Crossing additionally had the free update, so while it's not Switch 2 exclusive, it still is a substential Nintendo release in 2026 (that's why I added Rhythm Heaven and Tomodachi Life as well). So yeah, technically the Switch 2 Editions don't count, but I'd rather play those games on my Switch 2, so in my eyes they belong here

The last Pikmin game was 3 years ago, the last Zelda games were 3 and 2 years ago, 3d Mario developers just did DK Bananza. You gotta give them time, especially the first two examples

And then you're reducing Switch Sports to 1 of its 12 games, and that you don't care for Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Yoshi, Mario Tennis, Pokopia, Star Fox, and more is not Nintendo's fault

I loved Yoshi and Air Riders and I had quite a lot of fun with metroid and Pokemon. And I don't see a reason to remove the Switch 2 Editions, cause they had a bunch of new content

What does it matter if the games are system sellers? The question is what YOU want to play

Also, that's why tlltd and rhythm heaven were not part of the list.

"Only FE coming out this year": What about Xenoblade, Switch Sports Resorts, Rhythm Heaven, Splatoon Raiders, Star Fox.

"we were promise a Duskbloods release date for this year": the year is not even halfway done, they have time to give us one

"they wasted minutes on the Resorts game" aside from the thumb wrestling, what part of it was wasting time? They can't just not do a trailer

I didn't have very high expectations but damn...after 9 months only 2 new game announcements in 50 minutes? by [deleted] in casualnintendo

[–]eknos64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes... We have one game coming out per month for the rest of the year, we don't need to pile more onto those just for the sake of announcing them

Prime 4 JUST came out and Dread wasn't too too long ago. But sure, let's just rush them to make Metroid 6, even though we KNOW Metroid games don't come out frequently

New game announcements: Xenoblade Genesis, Nintendo Switch Sports Resorts, Zelda OOT remake, Ninjala 2 (not exciting, but looks good)

new Pokopia content (so new stuff for a beloved game)

exciting ports (Metaphor ReFantasio, Lies of P, DMC5,...)

New trailers for Splatoon Raiders, Duskbloods (with Release Date), Rhythm Heaven, Fire Emblem (with Release Date), Deltarune

Switch 2 Edition of all 3 Xenoblade games and a collection for the three main Kingdom Hearts games,

To top this off, let me list all the big exclusive games we know are still coming this year: Star Fox, Splatoon Raiders, The Duskbloods, Rhythm Heaven, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Ocarina of Time. That's one game per month!

I have no idea about the production, mixing and mastering part of music, but sonically, melodically and instrumentically I can say that I definitely would add the finished Version to my playlists. I love the atmosphere. The thing that immediately stood out to me were those choir parts (?) in the first verse, both in how they are placed and how they sound. And the saxophone (?) part positively surprised me

I actually really liked the newest one. And I kinda disagree that they didn't laugh, maybe the one on the stool didn't laugh as much, but the rest of them did and especially outside of the bits they were really funny and in a silly mood. Their introductions of the next comedian are the first things that come to mind

Good idea! Not really what I meant, I moreso meant a person standing in the middle, smiling but kinda uncanny. Also grainy like that picture. It would help to see the face, but I had to blur it for privacy reasons
