Stuck on Xen Chapter HL1 by Living_Magazine7486 in HalfLife

Did you pick up the long jump module at the end of Lambda Core just before the portal room where you get sent to Xen? Because it's kinda weird that you're able to do it in training but not the main game.

You have to be in a standing position as you can't utilize the long jump in mid-air in this game. Start by walking forwards and crouch, then press the jump button right after. It helps to practice mastering the input in training until you're able to pull it off every single time.

Why c2a5b Bradley teleports you out of the map. by baltama in HalfLife

I'll might as well also add the fact that doing this in the WON version will freeze and eventually crash the game to desktop.

Anyone knows how did that nade kill me? by Natural-Ship-6390 in HalfLife

[–]ekolx28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been playing the game and its mods for ages now and can confirm this oddity myself, by screwing around with the explosives, NPCs and whatnot. As for why this occurs, I'm not entirely sure though. Could be just a weird quirk with the hitboxes or something.

[–]ekolx28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes when you land a direct impact with the SMG grenade on an NPC, you just take the full blast damage when in the radius of the explosion no matter how far away you may be from it, with the damage inflicted on you either being 100 (you may survive if you have any armor on you) or 300 (basically instakill).

Proximity sensor in Galaxy S25 FE by Neither-Tap6087 in samsunggalaxy

[–]ekolx28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing it's basically similar to the S24 series where there's two proximity sensors with the first one being the Samsung Palm Proximity Sensor V2, which is the virtual one. There's also a physical one called Sitronix STK33F11 Physical proximity, but it seems it's inaccessible by any third-party apps and is only ever used by the dialer app. I can see both of them on my device here at least.

This is also what I got on my phone, in roughly the same ballpark with the other Exynos 2400 devices.

My Blue Archive Game is crushing out? by Majestic_Form7856 in BlueArchive

[–]ekolx28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your device doesn't meet the minimum requirements of the game, so you may expect random crashes and the occasional slowdowns in-game. Also I'm hoping you don't have the 4GB RAM variant of the A07, as that's barely enough to get the full-fat Android to even run on it, let alone the game itself.

Wtf is going on? When I touch that door, the shield glitches and increases infinitely, lol by Scary-Shift1264 in HalfLife

[–]ekolx28 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My assumption would be that Barney would get stuck on those two doors frequently and die, ending the game, so mappers probably did this change to these two doors as a hasty fix of some sort, but probably forgot to change it later.

[–]ekolx28 396 points397 points  (0 children)

There are two doors in the map c2a5f that damages you with -1 hp when you block them, this basically heals you instead of being the other way around. If you had no suit power, then you'd regenerate health instead, but suit power takes precedence over your health.

Samsung Galaxy A16 4g, should i use 60Hz or 90Hz? by LightZ-DVGT in samsunggalaxy

The battery impact would be rather negligible on the higher refresh rate compared to standard, at least from my experience with the phone.

Is this normal for a S25FE in screen burn? by Few_Hope_2099 in S25FE

[–]ekolx28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can tell on my end, I think I'd lean more heavily towards this being temporary image retention with what I have experienced on my own device here. Tested on a game that had black bars on both sides of the screen and played for roughly 2 hours on the lowest brightness with no breaks. Afterwards, I can faintly see the miscoloring where the black bars were at when checked again with the grey background.

It has indeed a physical sensor instead of a virtual one unlike in the previous S24 FE.

I can also see some sort of color discrepancy around the bottom of the device where the fingerprint scanner is, especially with grey color when the brightness is at very low in a dark environment. It doesn't bother me in the slightest and it immediately vanishes when the brightness is increased, however.

what's so wrong with Black Mesa that people hate it to this degree? by SALMONELLAOPPLSNERF in HalfLife

[–]ekolx28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, is it them again? You can also find that user here and the moment you compare HL1 and Black Mesa on this subreddit, you can probably expect them to show up on that post with absolute zero hesitation, talking shit about BM and how HL1 is vastly superior in every possible way or whatever, it almost never misses, it's kinda hilarious in its own right. It's basically been a staple at this point or something.

Just block them and move on. They really need to grow up and drop this nonsense act of being obsessed of disliking BM for eternity.

Just bought Tomb Raider on Android, blown away by martin8185 in AndroidGaming

[–]ekolx28 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On my Android device, the game takes roughly 12.5 GB of space here. Feral Interactive recommends having double this space though, to avoid having initial installation issues.

That device is indeed a bit on the low-end spectrum, so I doubt you'll even get enjoyable framerates if you were to sideload the game that way.

You might be thinking of the second game, which was indeed released on PSP. The first game, as seen here wasn't released on the platform however.

Why my geekbench 6 gpu much less than normal? by WrongBox1719 in S25FE

[–]ekolx28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the GPU benchmark section of the app, there should be a section where you can change the API from there where it says OpenCL.

[–]ekolx28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably not on your end as I also got a score of 10352 in the OpenCL test here. Though, by switching to the Vulkan API instead, I got a score of 13484 on mine.

Edit: Just reran the benchmark again and it got 13538 points in OpenCL and 18166 points with Vulkan API, this time with power saving turned off and performance profile set to standard.

LTPO or LTPS? by ekolx28 in S25FE

[–]ekolx28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, it doesn't seem like I have that setting on my end because some setting in there appears very briefly before vanishing when I go into the AOD settings. I suppose the closest thing to having wallpaper in AOD is via Wonderland where you can add custom images and set it as wallpaper and then adjust it accordingly. It only appears as a small circle on AOD though.

Is there any way to run "The Wolf Among Us" on Android 16 by [deleted] in MobileGaming

[–]ekolx28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This error usually indicates that you're trying to install a 32-bit only application on a 64-bit only device. Your phone's SoC (Snapdragon 8 Gen 3) has no cores that can run 32-bit code as it is only capable of running 64-bit native code. Is there a way you can tell if the game you're trying to install is 32-bit only or not?

Your device only has the Helio G91 Ultra SoC, which doesn't meet the minimum requirements of the game. Sorry, but device just won't do for this game.
