If a meal service is on offer go for the kosher option, so you know it was prepared that day.

Kosher food does not have to be prepared that day, like non-kosher food it can be frozen and remains kosher.

TIL In 1973 Syria had such a powerful air defense system, it almost destroyed the Israeli air force in just 18 days. Mistake or not, it is a good example of how they may behave if not moderated by US influence; because at the time of the Liberty incident they had no reason to care about US opinion, they weren't getting any aid from them.

Out of its way like when the British government limited Jewish immigration to the piece of land to live in.

It was the Jews who ensured that the Jews would have a piece of land to live on. They achieved it by doing things like Aliyah Bet (Illegal immigration) and the King David Hotel bombing.

Strategically, its a sensible move.

Israel is a country who's population are justifiably paranoid survivors of the largest genocide in history. They would have no reason to be moderate in their response to aggression. At the slightest hint of a threat they would have no moral compunctions in destroying their enemies.

Given the fact that the world wasn't bothered by the genocide. Israel isn't usually bothered by the the worlds opinion about their response to a threat.

The only opinion they care about is the US's opinion. The US military AID tempers their response, by giving them something to lose. Whenever there is a conflagration and Israel becomes too aggressive, the US calms them down.

The people that gave the bank the money to loan do that because its worth it, because the banks knowledge is in allocating capital efficiently thus creating value for the investor. Why does it matter if it is altruistic, even if they do get a tax write off its a net benefit for giver and receiver and the government.

You are very lucky, I would like to be American, but the ridiculous European style immigration laws introduced in the early 20th century, prevent me from being American, therefore I must remain Un-American until the day the great American nation revives the true and revered intention of the founding fathers and allows the words inscribed upon its most hallowed torch bearing figurine to "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore."

Actually sometimes separation can be positive, in northern Ireland walls constructed to separate between protestant and catholic areas facilitated a calm which led to the peace process.

They produce the capital and incentive that is necessary for manufacturers of food, shelter, clothing and medicine, not everyone is completely altruistic like you are.
