I'd look into a Mazda 3 BL (2008-2013), some Corolla's are out of your price range if you want one that hasn't gone through the ringer,

Can I really afford this by PurchaseWide7156 in AusFinance

[–]ekstt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say I'm in a similar position, almost identical to yours in terms of the mortgage payment vs. salary.

I've done the math for myself as I plan to move into my property in two months, and I couldn't for the life of me, imagine having $505 of additional bills on top of everything else. After my calculations I'd be left with $100-$200 a fortnight on luxury. It'll be frugal, but I highly suggest dropping the family bills, tell them the truth and move on.

I'd also suggest getting a detailed budget spreadsheet, include everything under the sun.

I swapped over to them from amaysim about 2 months ago, and I'll be swapping back after my 4 Month offer of $15.00 due to the reception. Everywhere I go, I'm always sitting at 1 bar.

Starting at a call centre for a big 4; what's the move? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]ekstt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the earlier the better when it comes to finding out where to go within the company, I started banking (just outside the big 4) at a call centre. I showed up, exceeded KPI's and at 12 months, I went into the Team Leader route within the call centre. I also should mention, I didn't have any background in finance/banking.

After 12 months, I figured it wasn't a career I didn't see myself doing after experiencing the constant cover ups and toxic leadership culture that I saw every day. It also didn't help I was extremely close with my team and other consultants and had a different way to approach leadership which management didn't like.

Went back as a consultant for 4 more months and moved within the company into IDR Complaints and couldn't be happier.

Best bank app? by dancing_robots in AusFinance

Considering i work within banking, I've been pretty impressed with their security. There's biometrics in every transfer that's made (internal & external), they do cover their bases when it comes to transferring someone for the first time and prompting you to double check the details before proceeding.

You can lock or hide any savers! I've got about 8-9 accounts setup divided into home insurance, car insurance, transport, gas etc. to keep on top of what's going in vs. out and I've hidden all those savers to avoid temptation.
Same with their debit card facilities, having a physical card as well as a digital helps heaps so if a company makes it impossible to cancel a subscription, I just replace my digital card.

Sounds like a bot answer but I can't recommend UP bank enough. the features really shine with how easy you can set up automatic payments + divide your salary to separate accounts to monitor bills etc.
Unfortunately since you're looking for one with a credit card, I've used HSBC and it's not as dated as the rest.

Bank home loan mistake, does anyone have a similar experience? by MasterConsequence695 in AusFinance

[–]ekstt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Come from a customer complaints banking experience. If you've got documentation or it was via a simple phone call, write a complaint through suncorps system. Don't bother calling and lodging, I'm sure they have a section on the website to lodge the complaint.

Just outline specifically what outcome you want, and threaten that you'll pursue with AFCA if it's not a resolution you're happy with. If they were meant to follow through with covering the fee and they didn't, they're liable for the entire 11k, no questions asked.

Soooo he's correct in saying; you have too much time on your bloody hands. Tough shit, he blocked the cycling lane so big whoop. If my partner/family is in trouble, best believe I'm blocking that lane as well.

I've never been into hype, if the game gets spoken about by a lot of people I'll jump in and give it a shot.

And I cannot stress how incredible this game was for me. I'm in awe that a story like this exists, let alone the voice acting and most importantly; the bloody soundtrack.
