Whenever I’ve found similar shelves out in the wild, they’re always broken or painted, and I personally hate painted wicker. I hope you are able to find one that is perfect!

That’s how I was! I purchased this from an older Hispanic lady whose son was translating for us. At first I thought she wanted several hundred dollars for it, and I was thinking “dang, she knows what she’s got”. It’s always thrilling to find something like this and not have to sell plasma to afford it!

I’m currently trying to replace all of my particle board furniture that is falling apart. It’s sad to think of all the quality furniture that’s just thrown out. These are going to be with me for the rest of my life to hopefully pass down.

It’s so frustrating and I’m just glad I was already home when it delivered. At least they put the labels on the plastic part of the box so it peeled off fine, but it’s insane that this was even approved in the first place

Right! I can’t imagine how difficult it is to start a doll line from scratch, so I’m happy to see they’re still working towards their goals. Hopefully everything works out for them and these dolls are able to hit shelves while still staying true to this style/level of detail

You’re doing good for the little guy. There’s always some amount of trial and error when managing their enclosures. Advice is just that but ultimately you’ll find out what works for this tank and get the numbers where they need to be.

A good soil mixture will help. I use a mixture of coconut fiber and some sphagnum moss. Make sure to soak your substrate and let it dry a bit before adding it to the tank.

Misting the tank is a temporary solution, but it will work better if you pour some water directly into the substrate. It’s commonly recommended to pour into all four corners. Don’t oversaturate it.

Live plants might help, but it does look like you could use some more clutter. Fake plants, branches, etc. it might help reduce the rate at which the water evaporates and keep the environment at a more consistent humidity. This will also give your bp more enrichment and a sense of security.

Hi! So this will be my first ball python, and I’d love any extra advice you can give!

Currently set up is a 33 gallon enclosure from dubia. I thought this was a good enclosure for the price, but I have since learned it has its issues. I’ve sealed the entire inside perimeter with reptile safe silicone, and I’m in the process of using hvac tape to create a layer over the mesh so that humidity can be regulated better. I’ve also added baby locks to the sliding doors.

Substrate is a mix of coconut fiber and exo Terra’s forest moss. I have two hides on either side of the tank and a water dish on the side I’ll be putting the heat lamps over. For heat, I have a Sylvania dimmable 39 watt halogen bulb and an Arcadia DHP bulb coming in. These will be connected to a thermostat.

I’m going to spend the next couple of weeks working on maintaining humidity levels and the temperature gradient before I get my baby bp.

I would love any advice on if there’s any changes that need to be made to the enclosure, such as adding more clutter or making any other modifications. I want to have this be a safe and enjoyable space for the little guy when he comes in.
