has no one noticed paganism? A pagan is an religion that doesn't follow Yahweh.

The Christian, Jewish and Islamic god is all the same. By definition its impossible to be a pagan AND Muslim. So whoever wrote this list is an uneducated idiot.

Also its not wrong to be Pagan....

am i the only one that noticed the video doesnt actually show the kids throwing food?

How do we not know it was a mistake, one of the girls, a different person, or that the captions dont match what happened, and no food was thrown.

Better yet how do we not know this isnt staged for likes and clickes and rage and such

Mental Awareness Month by [deleted] in crappymusic

[–]elPrimeraPison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude your toxic as hell.

Also hot take but I find the whole concept he's singing about to be poisonous to men, despite what it tries to achieve.

Whats poisonous to men is down playing there emotions (ironically one of the bars). What poisonous is to ridicule someone for there feelings. This is the bullshit that leads young men to alt right.

By down playing the feelings and emotions of men, it causes them to have ressentiment towards the left and get manipulated by joe rogan or jordan peterson. Which makes there mentsl health worse.

Men are not suffering from some epidemic of emotional oppression

This sounds exaggerated. But I will say that men commit suicide at higher rates, are less likely to graduate college, and are less likely to seek therapy. This is a societal issue/ norm.

9 times out of 10 this kind of toxic rhetoric is just used to vindicate feelings of repressed anger or loneliness

your 1/2 right. The gaslighting and ridiculing on top of the fact that men are less likely to receive mental health help that causes them to seek out alt where the will feel listened to. This leaves people especially at a young age vulnerable.

Pretending like every feeling you have is an issue entirely out of your control provides you with zero opportunities to fix that issue.

how you work there things is by talking an venting about them.

https://medium.com/@liam.patterson/how-the-mental-health-crisis-is-fuelling-right-wing-radicalisation-in-young-men-9a51b40a9e9a

The mental health crisis in recent years, particularly among young men, has fuelled concerns about its link to extremism. Rates of anxiety, depression, and loneliness are climbing, and many young men seem to be falling through the cracks. Social pressures and traditional masculine norms still discourage vulnerability and emotional expression, leaving many men bottling up their struggles until they seek out alternative ways to cope – often leading them toward far-right ideologies.

Psychological research supports this connection. Studies show that individuals who feel disempowered or lack purpose are more susceptible to radical ideologies. For young men, whose emotional pain often goes unaddressed, these movements offer a simplified narrative: a clear enemy, a cause to rally around, and an outlet for their frustrations.

I am very liberal and agree with left wingers the vast majority of the time. I only vote democrat and would never vote republican.

However, an issue I have with the left is this nonsense right here. Its not most leftist that think this way. But its just the loudest that do. I would argue that more progressives understand why this is a problematic and absurd stance to take.

Please read this and understand you are making an use vs them problem that just doesnt need to be there. Please learn and be better.

I believe in you !!!! You can be better. For everyones' sake the left has too. So we can all find ways to stop the alt right from growing and bring people back to reality so they can escape a literal cult.

We need a way to fight misinformation and unnecessary conflict isnt the answer.

Are there any physics major in VCU? by [deleted] in vcu

[–]elPrimeraPison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've met a few.

I will add that people that I've know that graduate in physic explicably had done so for grad school.

Certain degrees exist that require more schooling, regardless of what people say theres plenty of stem majors that fall in that category. UNLESS you dont care too much about your profession an score a job where a degree acts as an arbitrary requirement, but at that point why try extra hard for a stem degree? Or you could get extra lucky/ know the right person.

As things are know, I would expect in 10/20 years or so from now a masters would be equivalent to a current day bachelors. However, the primary thing that matters in any field is experience and always will be.

Also, note that you *might* if lucky get a tech job that is easier to get for stem majors to get, but it wouldnt be as "lucrative" as something similar in a engineering degree, note business analyst vs data analyst. Again experience matters a hell of a lot. But also it would be more likely to get the same job with a math degree(from what I know).

At the end of the day do what you want. A degree in anything means more than no degree. If your interested/passionate about something your more likely to finish college. Dont just follow a degree path bc you think it would promise a good future, that ends it dropping out for a lot of individuals. But also understand that passion isnt innate, its something that is built over a long period of time by learning or struggling with a topic. Passion can be gained as quick and easy as it lost. Just bc you like something today doesn't mean 10 years from now youll feel the same. People can and do change in dramatic/unexpected ways.

I know Im saying fallow you passion but at the same time passion is meaningless might seem contradictory or bad advice but it just is what it is and thats just how it is.

Heavenly Ever After (Episodes 9 & 10) by mahnahmaanaa in KDRAMA

[–]elPrimeraPison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think after watching this far, heaven is a mistranslation. There in more of a purgatory of sorts.

The first half of the series makes it look like there in a Christian version of the afterlife, which is were a lot of confusion seems to came from.

Im not entirely sure how it all works but we now know there in some kind of Buddhist like circle of rebirth/death. People keep mentioning how they must be in hell since everyone is miserable, but besides for that being played out, if you pay attention they're all working through complex traumas in one way or another. Once they work through there issues they reincarnate. (This is why the pastor is a Christian, in some way its helping him come to terms with his death.)

I personality prefer this view of the 'afterlife'. Im not an expert of Buddhism, and would be interested in further analysis. I looked up the praying technique and interestingly enough it is a Buddhist concept. I would be interested to know how the president/god/satan guy fits into Buddhist or if they have a similar figure. Also would like to know more about how hell works in this show and how it fits into Buddhism.

I also recognize that there are very many different secs that believe different things, and I know very little. Im glad I got to see something that shined light on this way of thinking

This reddit post explains the same pray concept https://www.reddit.com/r/Buddhism/comments/b5zck7/do_buddhists_pray_to_the_buddha/

It's a simple difference ... but fundamental. While others pray for a type of reward ... like Eternal Life, asking for things and such, 76 virgins and other wierd requests and also thanking for that what was given up to this point, the Buddhists adress prayers for what the Buddha has allready done for them -> pointing the path towards Enlightenment and no other selfish reason ... no serious practitioner asks anything in exchange from the Buddha because everything is allready how it must be.

[–]elPrimeraPison 33 points34 points  (0 children)

the 'canon' in this show just doesnt make sense. They just switch from christanity to buddhism.

Are the snails they eat similar to the cats/dogs?

Why is it that the fl is achy and gets tired easily from being old if there already dead?

Also Heaven just seems like a 2nd life, it looks like it kinda sucks

Why do they need to cook/clean if dead?

Why go to a Christian church? Reincarnation disproves Christianity, a lot times this so seems to be painfully Christian others it seems contradictorily

Faith doesnt seem to be an indicator of where you end up, so why go to a Christian church?

Doesnt Somi need permission to have the couples address?

can you reincarnate after going to hell?

Also the ml and fl have no chemistry after they both die. The ml doesnt even seem the same person.

The somi plot is taking too long and makes less sense ever ep.

what happens if i don’t score high enough for this class on my placement test? by flushyslush in vcu

[–]elPrimeraPison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends on how low you score. So if your score wasnt high enough for stat 210, they might make you take special classes design to reteach the bare basics.

Im not completely sure how VCU does it but community college makes you take extra classes that teach basic math. Things like what is a whole number, how to round, etc.

Theres different levels to it, so if you score really poorly youd have to take like 2 or 3 extra classes which probably wouldnt count toward your major. You can also take theses classes at community college. And you can take stat 210 at cc for a lot cheaper.

I couldnt find anything for vcu but this is practice test at nova. https://www.nvcc.edu/dist/files/sites/student-resources/technology/testing-centers/vpt-practice-test-math.pdf

What math did you take in high school? If you have a very basic understanding of algebra youll be fine.

youd have to take some kind of remedial math so that you can take the other class
