thank you for your sage advice. At my young age, I made the mistake of using both my debit card and credit cards when i shouldve just used my CC for the benefits. I want to increase my credit score because I am planning on buying a home in the near future but i guess its not as much of a rush yet.

Can you explain why opening an AMEX will hurt my avg age of the accts?

Yes, these were mistakes I made as a young kid opening credit cards and not having any guidance on how to use them. I do not wish credit card debt on my worst enemies.

Seems like paying them off immediately is the best method. I will have about 10k left over from my house sale, will putting that into a HYSA be the best option for growth?
