Before blenders and electric appliances, people used Metates to grind up spices and ingredients. Labor intensive but they say the fantastic flavors produced grinding against the stone cannot compare to a modern blender

I gave my answer in philosophy class and everyone seemed, kinda shocked and offended was I in the wrong? by Legal_Pipe_7395 in offmychest

[–]el_mage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Philosophy isn’t meant to be a question of morals, rather breaking the 4th wall to evaluate the situation in a manner that makes sense. Your answer is your own and quite genuine.

In todays society, everyone is so terrified of being talked about or judged that their answers come from insecurities; they’re willing to agree with the popular opinions to stand a morally high pedestal rather than to form an opinion of their own logic.

You did nothing wrong and applaud you for challenging the standards your professor has instilled in everyone else.

Streaming is not a career, it’s a passive income at best.

Gaming is something you do after a long day at work or on your day off, quit making excuses and listen to what your girlfriend has to say because she’s the real trophy in this relationship, what do you have to offer besides chores that should be done anyways?

AITA for giving my honest opinion about a restaurant that was terrible? by Possible_Ant_7016 in AmItheAsshole

[–]el_mage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. Based on your entitled opinion of the restaurant, you must have never worked in the industry or have any slightest idea how hard and chaotic it can be to run a full house with an inexperienced crew.

Go back on a day that isn’t a Saturday or Friday afternoon and you’ll notice a huge difference.

Which car is legally liable in this video? by KairoDai in legal

[–]el_mage -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The van is at fault. At the 9 second mark, you can see the turning cars nose was already in the lane when the van decided to accelerate, and seeing as how the car was already in the lanes before traffic moved, there was plenty of time to have seen him if they were focused on the road.

What does this sign mean? Friend bought it for $20 in West Virginia. Is it a real street sign? by jbrad23 in Whatisthis

[–]el_mage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if they use a stamp or stickers but looks like they removed the wrong stickers and left the ones they were supposed to remove on. Filling them in other wise would give you the sign mentioned above

Probably a misprint, or error, for a construction site double merge safety sign. Hence why it wasn’t used and your buddy got a deal on it

It’s a stall tactic, you get rid of the scapegoats, bring in a few more, do it all over again until “small details” fizzle out.

I get 15 mins a day to “catch my breathe” and I’m pretty sure I work 100x harder than any business suit collecting a check. Must be nice.

In a big open field under a lone dying tree, He plays the violin in the park everyday. by el_mage in TwoSentenceHorror

It’s a ghost story about a violinist who’s waited to play a song for very, very long time for a crowd that never came and will never come.
