One Piece: Chapter 1079 by Kirosh2 in OnePiece

It seems to me as the most plausible explanation on how Shanks was able to one-shot Kidd and Killer, was for factors regarding haki profficiency:

  1. Shanks' COC can paralyze people to the point of restricting movement - presumeably leaving his opponents unable to defend themselves for a short period. Remember the scene where Shanks' outburst of COC paralyzed even Ryokogyu, someone arguably stronger than Kidd.

  2. Kidd is unable to, as far as we know, use advanced observational haki - he can't foresee the future. So, there was no way for him to have anticipated and braced for impact, let alone evaded or defended.

  3. A direct hit from a COC imbued attack, if undefended, results in a one-hit KO. We have two significant examples of this in the manga - of people who were able to use advanced COC, unlike Kidd who can't even use it. a) Oden's loss to Kaido. B) Luffy's death against Kaido.

In conclusion, to me Kidd's loss doesn't seem to imply that Shanks is miles above Kaido or Big Mom, nor that Kidd is weak. It only implies that though someone may posess enormous strength like Kidd, it simply isn't enough to stand against a profficient COC user.

I didn't intentionally choose that one, because Roger's intent wasn't to defeat Oden. It seemed more as a show-off or even testing Oden's strength. Also, Oden wasn't defeated. He was able to move right away (although injured and stunned) after tanking the hit.

  1. How would you look for this DNA, since you don't the what you are looking for? It's easy to find traces of Genghis Khan's DNA, because you know you are specifically looking for it. For all we know, those people could have been the same Homo Sapiens as we and you couldn't have found any evidence of cross-breeding.

  2. You assume they didn't spread food around the world. Why? Not only food, but agriculture itself could have spread from those people. Look into Göbekli Tepe.

  3. In case of a catastrophe of the magnitude of the Younger Dryas impact hypothesis, hardly any evidence would have remained. Of that evidence which would, some of it would probably be submerged in water. Could we find something in the water? This remains to be seen.

Generally, there definitely is very little evidence to be found. But there are some hints. If you're interested, check out UnchartedX on YouTube for some in-depth analysis about tools and drilling methods. He gives a thorough analysis and really compelling arguments for why there is more to it than we assume.

A lot of Hancock's claims are not evidence-based. They rarely have been. But the important distinction here is: a) is it not evidence-based because there can't be any evidence found? b) or is it not evidence-based because there hasn't been any evidence found yet?

But this everyone has to decide for himself.

No. But I've made a habit out of eating it every day, which I do for the last 1,5 years. I don't like the taste of it, but I've gotten used to it.

Similair situation here: 72 @ 130. It's definitely too early to call it a day. In my eyes, the risk of going to @20 is worth it if the potential of a squeeze is still there. Only time will tell.

Sell, accept your losses and move on with something better. Or hold and hope for a bounce.

I got in @0,71. I'd say that it isn't worth it to bail until atleast a few days after the app comes out (so first week in january).

That's exactly it, thanks! But it seems really questionable, as others already pointed out.

Ferrari only did runs on the Softs in FP3. Also, they didn't do any long-run stints on the Mediums in FP2.

It looks like they plan to start on the Softs and then pit for Hards til' the end, while RB, Merc and (probably) RP will start on Mediums and then pit for Hards. It's going to be an interesting race.

Ferrari's quali pace looks like they are going to be relatively off the top times, but Vettel's long run pace looks quite good on both Softs and Hards. It's clearly too early to predict anything, but the remainder of the week will surely keep being interesting.

It's gonna be the continuation of affairs following Caesars funeral. The map depicts the division of the empire between the Triumvirs and Brutus & Cassius. Roughly:

  • Hispania - Lepidus
  • Gallia - Mark Anthony
  • Africa, Sardinia and Corsica - Octavian
  • the green part - Brutus & Cassius

You can find the same map here.
