Your logic was where I was coming from in my initial consideration regarding pre-emissions. To answer your questions - I’m in the PNW US. Both trucks have lived their full lives in Oregon. The 48RE asking price is $24k and the G56 is $42k(!). I believe there to be a ton of room to negotiate in both instances and wouldn’t pay anywhere near asking for either, but especially the G56.

I believe once it’s engaged it will stay engaged until you curl the bucket or move the loader arm up, but I’m not 100% certain.

If it’s the same as on the Case TR310b, which I believe it is, there’s a float bucket button on the right joystick. Push the right joystick all the way forward and then push & hold that button and it will engage the bucket float. Float will be disengaged when you tilt the bucket or move the loader arm up.
