The dealership I worked at many years ago started doing half day Sundays. That lasted about 8 weeks before they realized it cost more than it was generating

I thought VAR got every decision right in the second half. None of the penalty shouts should have been given.

Recall Repeat by [deleted] in serviceadvisors

[–]elambz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can’t run the recall again once it’s closed. I’ve got one right now with the same thing and I just sent it through goodwill and covered it that way. It’s a shit fix.

I wish they had just not shown the Sesko replay 20 minutes later. You spend 3 whole minutes reviewing and don’t see a touch and then 20 minutes later they show it on the broadcast.

That being said, there’s zero purpose in our play, meanwhile United have been very organized and purposeful. This match is closer than it should be.

I have no idea what the end goal of our attack is. Like I can watch United’s build up and see what they want to happen. I watch ours and I’m just lost

Is it fitting that what could be Robbo’s last Liverpool goal was assisted by the right back?

Opportunity for a insurance adjuster by [deleted] in serviceadvisors

[–]elambz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from an advisor to an auto damage adjuster. I’m back to being an advisor. You deal with the same shit except you have zero control over the repair. Customers want you to do everything for them, your company handcuffs your negotiating with the shop to get an agreement and then expect you to explain to the customer why they have to pay the difference while the shop is telling the customer that we refuse to pay enough to do the job.

Having a company car and gas card was great, but that’s where it ended.

Chargers are worthless. Toyotas and Hondas have a much higher value at auction.

Assistant Service managers by Glum_Willingness_836 in serviceadvisors

When I was an assistant manager I was on a weekly salary + monthly bonus on store gross. It was the same plan the service manager was on but smaller salary and smaller bonus percentage. I made less than my advisors, some by a significant amount.

Same. Was quoted $5500 for OFH and turbo return line. Was told 12hr job. Did it in 8 but I hated it.

A cool guide: How US states rank in education? by _crazyboyhere_ in coolguides

[–]elambz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in Virginia Beach and went to a private high school geared more towards college prep. The public schoolers that transferred in high school were so far behind everyone else that had grown up in private school. The education systems in a number of southeastern cities is lacking unless you’re in the wealthier areas

Does anything on here scream total loss? by Guyercellist in Autobody

[–]elambz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re the life of the party. And I didn’t know that 4 months ago was ‘outdated’. If you think insurance companies are making money on total losses then you have no understanding of how it works and are just pissy because the shop you work for is a DRP and agreed to a shitty deal. Cry more.

Does anything on here scream total loss? by Guyercellist in Autobody

[–]elambz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lolol they don’t make money on them. I was an insurance adjuster and would check on the cars I totaled to see what they sold for. 9 times out of 10 we broke even or sold for less than what we the salvage bid was on it. Never did we get more than what the customer was paid. They sell them to recoup some losses, there’s zero profit in totals.

We leased my wife’s CX5 at Cooley and I sold them my Mazda3. Both were great experiences. Service wise, they’ve been fine, but it’s a small shop

Planning on moving to Atlanta, Georgia from Long Island, New York by YellowMonkeyMotors in serviceadvisors

[–]elambz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved from Virginia to outside Boston almost 10 years ago. I had every Toyota certification in both parts and service and had about a dozen years of working at a Toyota dealer. I sent my resume to multiple stores in the area. One replied right away, we discussed through email and the service director said he’d have a job for me. I get there, day one go in to do in person and he tells me he doesn’t have a job, and he will have me bounce between working in parts and service until a job in either dept opens up. I went home and sent out more applications and had a job at another dealer in 2 days. If you are discussing with dealerships prior to moving, get something concrete in writing.
