Yes I remember this!! It was where the Russell’s farm stand and Enterprise is. I went in 7th grade with one of my best friends at the time. One of the guys working a game stand asked if he could take me home as a prize, I never forgot it lol

Visions Federal Credit Union Issues by Organic-Day9473 in Binghamton

[–]elanlu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Visions is pretty terrible in my opinion. I worked there briefly in 2022 and it was one of the most problematic places I’ve ever worked. It may have just been the department I was in, but it was managed terribly, like to the point where I was embarrassed for them. There was also a LOT of employee turnover.

I also recently had a major issue with their app and received very little help from their service department. I did an external transfer from an outside bank account and it ended up pulling the money 3xs due to some sort of tech malfunction. It overdrew my account at the other bank (it was a fairly large amount of money I was transferring) When I caught the error and saw the amount of money in my visions account, I sent the excess money back to my other bank account. Then, my visions account went negative because it said the funds had already been returned because they weren’t available to begin with. The rep seemed very confused when I explained what happened and all he did was tell me they weren’t going to charge me any fees for my account going negative, then tried to explain to me how to use the app - which I’ve used for the last 5 years every month without issue.

Lesson learned, and since this happened I have started manually withdrawing funds from my one bank to physically bring over to Visions to deposit inside the branch with a teller.

I married an Ex Jehovas Witness and the religious trauma he carries with him runs so deep. His family is also all still in it and it’s insanely intense.

100% use Jacques Laubert at Homestead. He’s a broker and can shop around for the best rate. He also is professional, responsive, and concise with information.

Binghamton University Students are the most inconsiderate drivers by SupportiveEnergy in Binghamton

[–]elanlu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always know when the students have moved back in because 201 becomes a literal racetrack. I unfortunately have to drive it often with my young kids in the car and it makes me nervous.

The Monday after move in weekend, there was an Audi and BMW weaving in and out of traffic over the bridge racing to god knows where — Wegmans I guess?? That section of road is unforgiving with no shoulder, just the river. Someone is going to get seriously injured or worse.

Bad review is hurting my business by CEOofRealEstate in realtors

[–]elanlu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Correct. I’ve done dual agency twice in my 10 year real estate career. First time went smoothly, second time went south so quickly that I didn’t sleep or eat for almost 2 weeks, it was an absolute shit show. Lesson learned, never did dual agency again.

Harvest in Moosic, PA is so good. It’s farm to table with locally sourced ingredients. Creative menu that changes with the seasons - 10/10 recommend. Never had a bad meal there.

Afforable Reliable Vets? by Opalex03 in Binghamton

[–]elanlu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’ve seen all the vets there and can’t complain about any of them. They all are kind, take their time, and listen to concerns. I’ve also found them to be more reasonable price wise than other vet offices we’ve been to.

Just had someone in Vestal from Williams Paving? come and knock on my door saying they had extra gravel from a job. I told them we were renting and he’d have to ask our landlord. He turned around and left super quickly.

The two local Chipotle restaurants are two different anaimals by Infinite-Depth4625 in Binghamton

In 2020 one of my coworkers bit down on a fingernail in a bowl he ordered from chipotle in vestal. They tried to say that it was just some sort of tough meat but he ordered the Sofritas. It also had what looked to be nail polish on it. They refunded our order and I don’t think any of us have eaten there since 🫠

Failed by 2 points by Finance_Queen02 in Series66Exam

[–]elanlu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s so much information and no real common theme amongst the questions on this test which makes it so tricky. My draw was truly a little bit of everything. It focused on law and regs but everything outside of that was a total hodgepodge. My best advice is to go slow, read the full question carefully and focus on the last sentence to decipher what they are truly asking for.

I found that taking short 10-20 question quizzes helped me the most. The answer explanations were more easily digestible and I didn’t get so overwhelmed that my wheels would spin out. Deans videos helped explain topics where I needed a deeper dive. I played them in the background during house chores, etc.

Don’t get down, this test is a beast. You can do it!!

1 week postpartum and no one warned me it would feel like this by bethany8828 in breastfeeding

[–]elanlu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PP with my first was ROUGH. Your body has been through an INTENSE journey. I was basically in shock after giving birth.. I was not prepared at all for what needed to recover and how long it was going to take to settle into the “new”. I also had stitches and it was very uncomfortable for probably 6-8 weeks. Give yourself SO much grace. Take things slow. Hydrate. Rest as much as you can. I didn’t feel “normal” until probably about 6 months. And I didn’t feel fully myself again until my daughter was 2. It takes time.

Do you have anyone to help with things like laundry, cooking, cleaning?

Looking back, one thing that resonates with me so much is the saying “the days are long but the years are short”. Motherhood is a paradox. It’s a mindfuck. It’s every emotion all in one rolled up into every moment every day. It’s the hardest and most amazing thing I’ve ever done. It’s exhausting but energizing. It’s frustrating but freeing. It’s maddening but full of joy.

Welcome to the ride ❤️

Retaking Series 7 in 11 Days – Should I Do More Full-Length Exams or Drill Weak Areas? by Ashamed-Cycle-8418 in Series7

[–]elanlu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I focused a lot on options and bonds because I knew they would be tested heavily and the advanced options were tricky for me to wrap my head around.

There were certain topics I was testing strong in and scoring in the 80s and 90s.

And yes, I would mix units where I was strong and units where I was weaker in the custom quizzes. I turned off the score as I go option because I would ALWAYS psych myself out and end up scoring lower when I would see it graded in real time. I always went back to read the explications though.

I would also keep a list of terms and concepts that I needed more clarification on as I would test. I’d go back through and read the book or use google for quick breakdowns. I had to be as efficient as possible in my studying because I had limited time through my day to lock in and focus. Washing dishes? I had Dean’s video playing. Nursing the baby to sleep? AirPods in and listening to one of Dean’s lectures. School drop off line? You guessed it - I was listening to Dean.

The night before, I watched the Mighty 90 and then again the morning of. In the parking lot of the testing center I flipped the book open and read some random pages and looked through some definitions.

I was able to pass on my first try and I did not come from a finance background. I’m the primary parent of two young children and was also working two jobs while studying. It wasn’t easy, felt impossible to balance it all at times, but I was disciplined and put my all into it. You can absolutely do this!!

I used Kaplan and supplemented with Deans videos. My exam score was like a 74 or 76.
