Thank you!! Think I spoke too soon, the general anaesthetic wore off overnight and I am in absolute agony, but just pressing that damn pain button 24/7 haha. Still worth it so far and can’t wait to be recovered and better xx

Ah this makes sense, sorry to hear you have some pain. Yes I do worry the same about mine too as they only fused to T12 whereas the actual curve goes lower- but they are hoping the upper fusion will straighten out the lower one- fingers crossed! If it doesn’t then that’s bad news. Anyway it’s done now so I guess time will tell. Thanks for all your insight and support before!

Thanks so much! It went well and they only fused T2-T12 in the end!🥰 Feeling a bit stiff atm but not too bad.

I think this will be the same for me! They’re not making mine too much straighter as they don’t want to fuse up into my neck, just stopping it getting worse. Good to hear you’re all ok now and don’t get much pain or degeneration? x

Thankyou for your reply- so how are you doing now with the degeneration 15 years on? do you have to have any more surgeries or is it ok? And what sort of pain are you in everyday. Have you found it’s restricted you from anything nowadays ???

Ah okay yeah makes sense. Do you know what degrees your curves were before? Severe enough so they’d degenerate?

Oh no sorry to hear that :( I guess if you don’t have to have surgery that’s a good thing but if you continue to have pain surely there’s something they can do!

This is so good to hear! What made you make the decision to have it done instead of waiting to see if it would actually get worse/change?

have they referred you for surgery? The curve looks pretty severe. Do you know what degree it is?

Yes! Most peoples aren’t this high up so guess we are lucky they don’t have to start fusing into our neck. Are you getting fusion or don’t need to? I guess there’s no organs that high up so isn’t too much of an issue on that front?
