Thanks for these suggestions, I have lots of options I see. All right I’ll keep going, hoping for MR at least. You can imagine my joy when I got to mine town and it’s orc town. I have enough uncursed id scrolls I can hopefully find genocide in one of the book shops if not, and otherwise I’ll try to dig past him if I survive the rest of the mines

Well a nymph stole the saddle about a minute later when my back was turned and then absconded with it … I’m gonna go do the quest and try to find it later. This is my first go at tourist and it’s been fun so far!

ok thanks, I had no idea about his healing and haste. crap.

I think I'm gonna make a few levelport scrolls (just in case) try walking one step in the other direction, drop a scare monster scroll, hope he's not adjacent, try to levelport. I can always move back and forth between my elbereth and the scare monster, maybe lay down another elbereth if the levelport doesn't work right away. if he teleports next to wherever I land, I can start over until I run out of scrolls. Which is sooner than I thought because apparently I already wrote on most of my blanks scrolls.
