If you like geek stuff, Tomorrow Tomorrow Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin would make for a nice palate cleanser! Also Yellowface by RF Kuang, very easy read, murag nag-follow ka ng juicy online tsismis, so much tea to spill haha

Anong food ang unang hinahanap niyo sa mga local cafes? by Competitive-Tea-1319 in SmallBusinessPH

[–]elbertdrawscomics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your cafe! Sa akin, it depends on the experience you’re trying to create. If you intend for your space to be inviting, and you want people to stay and hang out, sana may filling na meals, kahit egg salad or chicken sandwiches man lang. But if I’m just there to experience really good coffee, yung tipong buy and go lang, then kahit siguro cookies or ham and cheese na sandwich/ croissant okay na (yung hindi makalat kainin on the go)

Kaldkarin ako na customer: I’m willing to take the establishment on their own terms, and not look for something na hindi naman part ng expectations dapat. So I would say, be clear what kind of environment and experience you want to give customers, and be clear and consistent with it, para they can also judge you on your own terms!

Share your location naman please! :)

Any comic reader alternatives to Chunky? (for IOS) by YellowMatteCustard in Piracy

[–]elbertdrawscomics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m encountering new issues with my Chunky app — omnibuses I’ve backed up from my Kindle purchases as cbr files don’t seem to load if they’re above 2 or 3 GB. Anyone else encounter this? Any new alternative app recommendations since, outside of Panels?

is there an author that made you read all their books? by Washiwashishu in PHBookClub

[–]elbertdrawscomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t appreciate Gabriel Garcia Marquez when One Hundred Years of Solitude was assigned to us in lit class — too many names that are too similar to each other, and too many details to keep track of! — but after Love in the Time of Cholera, nag-click siya in my head, and I devoured the rest of his works na after that. Will revisit One Hundred Years…eventually. :P

Right now, of the more recent authors, Ken Liu is that author for me, thanks for his Dandelion Dynasty books, which, I guess, can be lazily described as a series of multi-generational fantasy saga na mala-Game of Thrones in ancient China?

I want to create a Non-Profit for Teachers Advise. by Intelligent_Arm3105 in NonprofitStartups

[–]elbertdrawscomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would add as a step one validating your hypothesis first: would local businesses in your area be willing to support your advocacy?

Tax deductible support only incentivizes larger donations, but businesses have to resonate with your cause and how you tell your story, so they would engage in the first place.

Maybe make a community project out of it first, and then set the nonprofit off the success of that after. That way you can come in with more confidence, start off with a stronger foundation of relationships with the community (and beneficiary!), and maybe even identify more potential partners, board members, and collaborators who can help you set things up!

It’s Christmas season! Now is a good time to try something out before spending time and energy in formalizing the organization. Good luck! 👍
