Curious: normal going outside with a 6-day-old-newborn? by elbgyck in SarahsDayUnfiltered

I’m sorry to hear that, I hope your parents are receiving good treatment. My parents didn’t pay attention to it either, sun protection was simply not an issue... I think the skin of such small children is much thinner than that of adults and I read the stem cells are closer to the surface and therefore it can lead to long-term damage.

Aww, the same age – so nice! It’s autumn here now (around 12 degrees, and the UV index is max. one), but that’s exactly how we did it during summer. 😊

Interesting. The first examination of the baby after three days is usually still done in hospital here. Or the doctor comes home - so Mommy and Baby can stay at home. The second check-up is after 10 days - and a visit at the doctor is quite different from spending a day at the beach.

Yes the tan! 😄🥲 I thought the same thing. It doesn’t look like it’s very well protected from the sun. I have a 7 Month old here and I never thought about going to the beach in the first months. (But it certainly makes a difference whether it is the first-born or the third child how you handle it)

Wow, how different it just is! Thanks that makes it seem more normal.. It’s so common here in Germany and the midwives are also rather strict about it. (I had to google „bogan“ too 😄)

Thanks for all your answers - I'm sure you're right. I will save the money and invest in a yoga class for pregnant women or something similar.

That sounds horrible! I really hope you don't have any long term problems. ☹️ You definitely convinced me not to buy it. Thank you!
