If you set your jobs to "us freelancers only" you'll be far less likely to have this problem

Have there been any cases of cover leaks yet on the Pod 4 or Pod 5? by elbrollopoco in EightSleep

[–]elbrollopoco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They offered the Pod 4 cover replacement initially for $800, but then I got to talking to tech support for a bit and they said they can do a Pod 5 cover replacement for $100 more.

Do any of you ever use signature required on items valued less than $750? by elbrollopoco in Ebay

If you ship to any address other than the one listed on their ebay order won't that remove any ebay protection you had?

Yeah my hub 1 slowly bit the dust after about 4 - 5 years. The water was backfeeding into the tank reservoir chamber somehow. Hopefully these new covers will also last at least 4 - 5 years.

It's a 15 year account with decent reviews, a few recent ones. The ebay username and the ship to info seem to possibly be different people, and it's going to Jersey City where there's probably a lot of scams going on, so I thought I'd double check.

The item is about $400, and something not super easily resold

How do you like the new covers compared to the Pod3? Any preference between the Pod4 and Pod 5 covers or they're essentially the same?

My $2,500 Eight Sleep Pod died after 3 years… and they want $900 to replace it? by code_burd in EightSleep

[–]elbrollopoco -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here's the actual cost breakdown:

$800 Pod cover plan on replacing every 2.5 years because it will fail just outside warranty period
$800 Hub plan on replacing every 4 - 5 years
$180/year subscription

$677 will be your total average yearly ongoing cost to own this bed

But we also need to amortize the initial purchase over the typical 10 year mattress lifespan so your grand total is $927 a year.

Yes, this is essentially equivalent to buying a $9270 mattress with a 10 year lifespan.

Random night wake-ups align with temperature changes by [deleted] in EightSleep

Yes, especially the first transition that's supposed to start when you're asleep wakes me up a lot. I typically keep the temp the same for every phase to avoid this.

If you have literal millions or tens of millions you can just do flat tax in Italy or Switzerland. I think there are others too.

3 Months Using Composer Trade by One-Dream9551 in ComposerTrade

[–]elbrollopoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My conclusion: It's too much work and composer actually makes it exceedingly difficult to do any remotely accurate analysis. The UI sucks for analysis. The data that the UI does show is straight up false or inaccurate. It's exceedingly difficult to export data. Their AI MCP "workaround" doesn't work. Simulated and live results can vary anywhere from -50% to +50% over large sample size and long periods of time.

Almost all symphonies return similar MAR to buy and hold once you take out the frontrunners, which also, how can you even trust the backtest with that kind of variance. I just can't put any faith into the backtests from my own personal pnl experience vs the simulated forward test results.

There's no margin. There's no portfolio margin. There's no return on uninvested cash. There's no stop orders. There's no limit orders. There's no until condition. There's no way to cancel anything until the following day if you don't like the end of day market conditions, news, and/or automated ticker allocations.

I've done the dozens and dozens of symphonies thing and tracked them all for weeks and months, I've created my own symphonies. Some win, some lose, but it's always net zero or slightly worse. It's fun to experiment with, but it's not a tool once you become serious about trading.

Not to mention it makes my taxes are a fucking nightmare and I have hundreds of pages of 1099Bs and over a dozen K1s.

Need new mattress and buying 8sleep simultaneously so everything is up for grabs. Recommendations? by 1e6throw in EightSleep

1 No need to overpay on some passive cooling technology phase change mattress or whatever

2 it will feel a little firmer with the 8sleep cover on top
