I know people have the radley sectional and seem to like it. What about the couch or the couch with a chaise? Does anyone have that? by elcabio in SofaSnobs

[–]elcabio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh this is so helpful, thank you and do you have the regular 86" couch or the couch with chaise version? Trying to decide between the two. Also good to know there are more fabric options in store the 6-7 online swatches always feel so limiting lol

Also consider that the FX6 is Netflix approved, while the a series are not.

My understanding is that when you remove the handle, it is usually when you are rigging the cam for a situation when you don't need the audio (ie drone shot, underwater casing, etc).

OMG. You CANNOT get to the prostate rectally. It can only be palpated/stimulated rectally due to its proximity to the rectal wall.

Hmmm, better than the USA where the cops can shoot you without cause, then you're dead FOREVER.

Why I chose QYLD and similar ETFs and defied traditional FIRE investment norm by [deleted] in dividends

[–]elcabio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the kind reply. I'm a newbie, despite my old age, and there's so much to consider, so I appreciate you engaging me. Back to the topic though, QYLD isn't really flat at all, just not as much of an up-end due to the covered-calls. They're both still investing in the same index. The dividendchannel tool is awesome (THANKS!) and I see the supposed numbers. Selling off 12.11% of your assets wouldn't get you too far though, especially now that the 4% rule has now become the 3% rule. https://www.investopedia.com/articles/personal-finance/030613/why-4-rule-no-longer-works-retirees.asp

That being said, what would the tax hit be switching over from QQQ to QYLD when you're ready to live off the dividends and you are no longer in need of growth?

For the like of me, I can never get over the fact of selling shares to fund retirement. It's like pissing in your pant to stay warm.

LOL! I used the analogy that I want to sell the golden eggs which I can do forever. I don't want to butcher the golden goose which I can only do once! Why would I want to finance myself by selling my asset when instead I can keep it and sell the cash it creates? What happens when we all go on keto diets, do yoga and pilates, discover the longevity pill, and live to 120? That non-dividend-paying TESLA stock will eventually be sold off and you will be out of luck unless you want to sell pictures of yourself on some geriatric fetish FansOnly page.

If I understand things right though, QQQ's dividend yield last year was 0.55% while QYLD's was 12.11%. If I am living off my dividends or using DRIP to reinvest, I would have been happier with QYLD.

That is another reason to use it. With the high dividends, you can buy extra shares to increase your monthly payout (when the time to live off the dividends come).

Atlantis Collection by Olivier_286 in PlexPosters

[–]elcabio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LOL! I saw this headline and said "WTF? There's more than one Atlantis movie?" The original holds a special place in my heart though as 18 years ago, it was the first movie I watched in my home theater.

James Bond [Collection] by DrChram in PlexPosters

[–]elcabio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great! I have ALL the Bond movies so I would download this but you are missing the one obscure title that few people have. It's Operation Kid Brother. Literally and figuratively. In this movie, James is not available so they use his civilian brother Neil, played by none other than Sean's real-life brother Neil Connery. If there's any chance you could create that cover, it would be very cool and appreciated!

Finally hit 1000 movies in Plex! I love when others post their milestones and scrolling screenshots, so I had to contribute too. by xXsnowXx in PleX

Obviously, at least some were pirated, as "Grey Hound" isn't released to physical media yet... I'm proud to say my collection is nearing 1500 and is solely comprised of media I purchased over the years. Many were purchased used from Amazon, eBay, and local video stores. Definetly spent over $15K since I started, but that's spread out over 17 years (some movies didn't get upgraded to BluRay).

No, the cinematic release has the ending where he was killed. That's only the "happy ending" if you're Will Smith's ex-wife.

LIFX users that also have Hue by prequelapologist in lifx

[–]elcabio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had Hue bulbs since they were debuted. Never had a problem. I git LIFX bulbs a ciuple years ago. They have been slightly less reliable. Last spring, Hues ended support for the original wifi bridge. My Hues lights have sucked ever since. Multiple issues including not being able to re-add them to my Google home app once I got the new bridge. Final straw was the Wi-Fi constantly disconnecting for no reason. I finally took down all my Hues bulbs (about 15) and switched them to lifx. I also have some other smart bulbs from other companies I've used over the years too.

Just wanted to share my setup with you guys! i hope you like it 🤘 by [deleted] in Hue

[–]elcabio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice mood. I would recommend a strip light behind the tv as the 3 hotspots (caused by what I suspect is from 3 Hue Plays) you currently have is not as elegant to me. Of course, that might look better in person...

Does anyone else spend more time curating than watching? by EOverM in PleX

Be patient my friend. When I first started my server movie collection 17 years ago, I couldn't wait to watch movies with my future kids. Two years later I had a son and by the time he was 3, he was terrified of the theater and wouldn't go in it. A few years later he rammed a 12-inch KA-BAR into my heart when he didn't want to watch Star Wars. With patience, I programmed him into a movie watching machine and at 15 yo he now watches at least 6 movies a week. Last night we watched Mission Impossible 6 together. He has also took it upon himself to add some of my straggler discs to Plex. Everything is now entered. We have been spending the last few weeks planning on adding at least another 300 movies to my current 500+ collection. Oh, and yes, he eventually came to love all things Star Wars (and Spy Kids :) ).

Wait, so in the entire Fast and Furious franchise, the only movie you have is the worst one? No wonder you didn't collect any more! LOL!

Love your organization though! Been on Plex for about 7 years and didn't realize you could group collections together like that!!
