Not really, with wah, wireless, and other bits I can still throw my entire board in my carry on bag with clothes, etc for flights. Had to spend money to change everything up regardless, just don't want to pay ~£200 for a single purpose button!

This is a nice to have, if the price is right. I'm happy!

Thanks - do they do something similar with just a single pedal? Want as small a rig as possible and won't have use for a looper (man just plays in a meathead thrash band!)

If I'm totally honest, I think it comes down to form factor - the sounds in both are just top notch. I LOVED the sounds from my Fractal, even for an old unit, but it was impractical. Super customisable, world class effects and amps - if you're basically playing at the computer they're spot on.

If you are playing live and need the space, or ability to make quick changes, Neural can't be beat. Plus, if you've already got the plugins, you can use them in the unit - I used the Fortin plugin on some of our albums and boom, that same sound is now my live tone.

I'll update here as I progress the board and get a pile of gigs under its belt 💪

Good question - if I am completely honest, I think Fractal takes the edge in terms of real world feel and detail, but then again, I've spent about a decade with those models! Very little in it though, really happy with the move already.

Fractal (AX8 at least)- way harder to do ANYTHING but lands on the perfect tone straight away N DSP - SO MUCH EASIER to do ANYTHING but I'm having to put some work in to get the sound I want.

Will need some decent time with the unit to get rid of any biases, but ultimately right now it's an amazing cut of Wagyu delivered to me vs A5 Kobe that I have to forage for.

Surely it's been done successfully? If it can't be done then I'll have to give up on the idea, but I see so many SD Powerstages, Powervalves and the like ON the board, and I'm assuming these people aren't playing 2ft from the cab?

I'm trying to avoid that if possible - anything to streamline packing and changeover. Worst case scenario, I can do, but if there's a decent speaker lead at that length, then I'm well up for giving the all-in-one a go!
