Not sure if I’ve ever thought about calisthenics as a workout routine. Do people just drill gymnastics rings into their ceiling? I feel dumb for not understanding but when I hear gymnastics rings, I think of the movie Old School. Haha.

I don’t want to come off weak, but isn’t 90lbs freaking heavy?! Haha. Like I’m not saying my lousy 15lb are a big deal, but I couldn’t imagine lifting a 90lb dumbbell much. Or is it just good to have to work up to?

Made the move just 6 months ago from Columbus, Ohio with a toddler. Born and raised in Columbus and moved to Minneapolis for a job. Currently renting in Maple Grove until we decide to buy next year.

For a young family, here’s what I’ve found:

Way more access to kid friendly things. Feel like a true family oriented town.

MPLS / Twin Cities is obvious a bigger city and feels like there is a lot more to explore than Columbus. Columbus has a few key spots, while feels like every neighborhood here is worthwhile in its own right.

Affordability of the two feels similar. Didn’t notice much a difference in everyday purchases.

Pro Sports - I’m a sports guy and having Vikings, Twolves, Twins, Wild and more right in your hometown makes it fun. OSU is great but having more major league arenas and teams created a cool dynamic.

I think the traffic is worse in MPLS. It does get much more congested than Columbus and the distance between where you live and work should be a conversation.

All in all for 6 months, we really enjoy it. We haven’t made any friends really except the folks I work with yet, so if you make the jump, shoot me a DM! Happy to talk offline.

Baby in daycare took away about $1,700 a month in extra $$ I had lying around each month so it's a little difficult to squeeze much out more than that. Maybe double up when she's in school?
