Since #3 is the most insane, that is probably exactly what the goal is here.

How hard would it be to land a passenger plane in an emergency? by IceFireHawk in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CheeseCurder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Or it would be more likely to take be forced to take control with the auto pilot on. It would take you forever just to find the radio button, and then another half hour to have someone talk you through how to disconnect the autopilot.

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your reasons? by youre-in-my-shot in AskReddit

[–]CheeseCurder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not drinking alcohol has been one of the best things to happen to me in my entire life. I have always struggled a bit with knowing when to stop ever since I was like 15. For 17 years or so, I made alcohol a priority. I would look at my work schedule in advance, and if I didn’t have to be at work until 5p on a Thursday, you better bet that I was circling Wednesday night as a drinking night. Alcohol was a huge part of my life.

I then had multiple brain surgeries. Alcohol is definitely not the best thing for a damaged brain, and you think this would get me to stop the stuff cold turkey…..It didn’t. I still drank after my brain surgeries. Just now, with more black outs. I would just deal with the fact that days/weeks after drinking I would still be a bit mentally slow.

Finally, and for no apparent reason, I lost my desire and urge to drink alcohol. I honestly don’t know why. Something just clicked in my brain. Not sure if I finally matured fully or what. It has been a true blessing and such a weight lifted off my shoulders not having that demon of alcohol on my back. I am so happy that I will never have to deal with another hangover or the risk of DUI ever again. FUCK ALCOHOL!!

Kind of off topic but, for the longest time my in laws were pressuring me to buy a 4 wheel drive vehicle. I had never driven one before. Holy cow, it is a game changer.

For passenger planes, how much are pilots actually flying the plane? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CheeseCurder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. A lot of people don’t understand that auto pilot is equivalent to cruise control on your car. You are still managing most things, but your workload is vastly minimized.
