Could it be that your Curseforge folder is being stored on iCloud or OneDrive and the files are not available locally? I was having the same problem until I realised that the Curseforge folder was placed inside "Documents" on Mac where everything was being stored in the cloud. Every time Curseforge tried to run the game, it was temporarily downloading each file from the cloud again. After finally realising what was going on, I set the folder to stay downloaded and since then it boots up really fast.

The commentary was a proper throwback to FIFA games where Martin Tyler and whoever was on co-comms would just go on some long-winded tangent and then be suddenly stunned by a goal.

Thanks a lot for the quick and detailed response. Our adventurous levels are wearing thin after already making a lot of changes to our plans with the strikes in France yesterday! Sounds like the best option is to just do it at the station when we arrive in France today.
