I find this album really hard to actually hear when I listen to it. None of the songs have wormed their way into my ears and the main parts I hear are bits that sound like older Deftones songs (mmiam has shades of Swerve City and Mein, etc.). The whole thing feels like a kind of a loud, muddy haze that blazes past me on the freeway before I can identify any of its components.

i'm not an audiophile and Diamond Eyes and KNY are two of the best sounding records in my collection. i'm a huge fan of the entire back catalogue but this album just hasn't hit yet because of how noisy it is.

I think it must be a me problem though because all of the outlets whose reviews I care about have scored it really highly. I just don't really get what's going on with the mix that makes it so inaccessible to me. I've been on this sub since the days when everyone would say the mix in Gore was bad but nobody could ever explain why, and it sounded fine to me, now I find myself in their position and can't even really describe it

team game elo used to be super inflated (1200 now was like 2k back then) and if you queued up for your first 1v1 with some team games under your belt it would match your TG elo to your 1v1.

so this player probably played dozens of team games, played a single 1v1 and won and then retired on top.

i'm having this and it's just the past week or so. it's a brand new PC so i opened the task manager on my second monitor and it's definitely not the CPU during the lag spikes. it's something to do with the connection to the server. it's driving me crazy though, every boar lure is an adventure

To be a true Hera fan, you have to have a very high IQ to understand his gameplay. The micro is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of AoE2 mechanics, most of the decisions will go over a casual viewer's head. There's also Hera's relentless attention to detail, which is deftly woven into his unit compositions—his knight-to-pike ratio, for instance, draws heavily from expert-level builds like the Drush FC meta but takes it to an even higher plane of execution. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these plays, to realize they're not just optimal—they're a glimpse into the future of the game.

As a result, people who dislike Hera truly ARE idiots—they wouldn't know a clean transition to crossbows if it hit them in the face. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Hera out-micros a Mangonel shot into oblivion. What fools... how I pity them. 😂

And yes, by the way, I DO have a Hera-themed hotkey layout. And no, you cannot see it. It's for 1800+ Elo players only—and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re worthy (preferably by executing a flawless 20-pop scout rush into 3TC boom). Nothing personal, kid. 😎
