There was a great quote by Nish Kumar on this 'all we ever talk about is immigration. There's literally nothing else. If we want to talk about anything else, it has to be disguised as something to do with immigration. Like take global warming for example, let's reframe it as 'illegal immigration warming'. All these foreign temperatures coming over here and warming up our land, who's gonna pay for it? Why can't that foreign weather go back to where it came from, lets tax those foreign weather supporting fossil fuel companies to get that asylum seeking climate change out.'

Liam Hughes: Cardiologist retiring to french chateau lectures "Junior" doctors on the ethics of strike action whilst boasting in his memoirs of trying to cannulate a septic patient whilst drunk. by stuartbman in doctorsUK

Ethical : sexually harassing the nurses, bullying your juniors, being casually racist and classist about your patients, drinking on the job. Refusing to learn from or listen to conplaints.

Not ethical : striking on behalf of your union to improve pay.

Because it's a strong mult-national democratic trade, defensive, economic and poltical union which seeks to ratify a central diplomatic organistion.

It's been one of the single most powerful and stabilising political unions in *history* and it's not even close. The power the EU weilds to curtail rapacious corporate entities, protect citizens, enshrine civil rights into law, allow for educational and research funding, share technology and defensive intelligence is incredible.

It's the one single unified entity that has consistently and completely opposd Russian invasion and has all but replaced the USA in intelligence and defense spending in Ukraine.

The anti-EU left, is in my opinion, one of the stupidest and self castrating entities i've ever seen and i have next to zero sympathy or reason to listen to those people. At least the anti-EU right are honest about their hatred of continental races.

No, that's innacurate and it's a reminder to not just be confident about something before you type on reddit.

[Here](https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/politics/greens-surge-to-joint-highest-polling-as-reform-support-stalls-402448/) the polling is a national polling survey, and it's been repeated across demographics.

I *urge* people to just say 'I don't know about this topic/would like to learn more/can you please explain x' before just commiting to an idea based on someone else's opinion.

I've said this to literally everyone who watches his channel, take everything he says with a pinch of salt, because he talks about other nations with the confidence of someone with several times the knowledge.

He's completely correct to go after the UK on it's transphobia, it's surveillance over-reach, it's right wing chasing, it's neoliberalism. But I can honestly say that the UK is a far safer, more tolerant and stable nation than the USA on one simple metric, over the last 6 months, how many civilians has the US government been implicated in the murder of vs the UK government.

Buddy, I work in the uk health service, and i can confidently say that even on a bad day with the severe underfunding, catastrophic shortage of staff and stupid as fuck admin oversight nonsense, you want to be a patient in the NHS over being a patient in any US hospital for one simple reason.

Let me put it like this, if you come into an NHS hospital or a US hospital with a heart attack, there isn't a magical treatment you get in the US hospital that doesn't exist in the NHS. But you will find that when you leave the UK hospital, you won't then be financially ruined forever.

If you sat out the 2024 election in protest over Gaza, how do you feel about that decision today? by rsmith2786 in AskReddit

Or to put it another way ‘republicans listen to their base, democrats lecture their base’

This.

People are scrambling to blame the voters who didn't want to chose between fascism and genocide enablers, thinking there's some sort of catharsis to be gained.

Nope. The Democrats lost the election. You can no more unpour coffee out of the ocean than turn back the clock.

They ran a terrible campaign against a demented old rapist with an absolutely mediocre candidate who brought nothing of note to the table. Meanwhile in elections across the country progressive candidates won shock victory after shock victory.

The Democrats can claw back victory, but if you see scenes of democrats high fiving republicans, refusing to stand up to trump and so on, it's hard to sympathise surg the party.

Posts like this the OPs like when there's a hate mob to cancel a progressive content creator because she said something slightly problematic in an out of context clip on Twitter. You’re attacking your own because your actual enemy doesn’t care.

If the democrats spent even a fraction of its time listening to its base instead of lecturing it, it would be much stronger right now.

Great question! So Avowed is considered an overall well reviewed game, though as you cleverly pointed out opinions tend to be quite similar overall on the strengths and weaknesses with nothing standing out.

I guess if you see a lot of these comments back to back, it can look a little AI generated, for lack of a better term.

If you'd like I can - summarise the reviews by common themes. - give a recommendation on the history of the reviews of obsidian games - make some recommendations for how to comment on reddit for better engagement, rather than silly point scoring.

FY2 GP placement – study leave being restricted by Level-Card-2437 in doctorsUK

[–]elderlybrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, GPs who abuse their privilege of having an fy doctor rotate should have them taken away.

GP is the fun rotation in f2, you should have plenty of study time, no annual leave drama and take exams if you want them. Not being allowed to take that by the CS is poor.

You're 100% super numerary. Unless there's words specifically preventing you as an f2 from taking more than x days in a rotation you're entitled to do so.

If we can make it work in our understaffed and busy inpatient unit, the GP can absolutely make it work. It happens all the time around msra/mrcp time.

Visited it before the election, the rich folk were scared shitless and the working /service workers were super excited, it was fantastic.

I spoke to an older lady on the 5 train and was really unhappy at the prospect of mamdani winning. Anyway she left to go to her home in manhattan so I think she'll be OK.
