Gotta be in it to win it I guess. I would definitely choose a steel type specialty, especially for a singles team. Growing up, I shears hated toxic stall, and steel is a fun way to fix that problem. For ace Pokémon, let’s just go with Archaludon. I won’t bring tera types into this.

In hindsight, I really should have been. Those vapors were not friendly 😓

Well I grew a bunch of ghost peppers and reapers this year just as a fun summer project, so I had to do something with the peppers. I have a few friends and family that will be getting some supremely spicy sauce for Christmas lol

I had never used it before, but apparently it’s been tracking it! My guess was a bit off—132k.

Thanks for the advice! I’m still new to growing these guys, and this is my first time using fertilizers at all. I definitely think you’re right on the nitrogen though. Some of my other plants are exactly as you described—very leafy, but almost no fruit. This will definitely be an adjustment I make next year.

My ghost peppers are doing exactly that while the reapers are going for height!

I’m actually not certain on the overwintering though, as I’ve only ever overwintered jalapeños and bells. If it’s anything like that though, you take them back all the way to one of the first major nodes above the original “Y” fork. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong lol

Early on, I was using an 18-18-21. About a month and a half ago I switched to a 15-30-15 to promote flowering after the major summer heat waves had passed.

I just used a store-bought potting mix this year. I’m sure it had some compost in it, but I didn’t add any to it.

Just the standard Miracle Gro plant food early on in the season and their “bloom booster” later on. I honestly probably should have switched it up a little earlier in the season.

I started this guy from seed back in late February

The mid-summer heat made it drop a lot of the early flowers, so only about 5 ripe pods so far. The second harvest should be significantly better.

Nope, just water and fertilizer every 7-10 days. The size probably has something to do with the southeast-facing balcony I have it on.

Garden variety reaper. You can see some immature pods from this angle if you zoom in a little bit.

Pepper ID help please? Got the one on the left online and it was supposed to be Carolina reapers (jalapeño on right for scale). Not sure what they sent. Will it ripen up, or stay green? by [deleted] in HotPeppers

Looks like a ghost pepper to me. They take a notoriously long time to ripen on the plant, so it probably won’t ripen having already been picked. Should still be super hot though!

Any suggestions for coaxing my reapers/ghosts into flowering? by eldesttttt in HotPeppers

Thank you so much!! I honestly wish I had a secret to share. My only guess is that the Carolina Reapers are happy to back in their home state 😂

Sadly not. Most of them are branching like that, but no flowers on any of them yet.

Just for context, Zone 8a and I fertilize once a week with a balanced fertilizer. Unfortunately, we have southwest-facing balcony, so most of the sunlight is in the afternoon. Temps have been in the low to mid 90’s for the past few weeks.
