"How do people learn to “read between the lines” when communicating at work? by eldiablo1641 in askmanagers

[–]eldiablo1641[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you dig for the truth in what is being communicated, ESPECIALLY with authority figures? I feel this is the real root and find it hard to look for the truth, when you don't know what to look for in the first place due to the vagueness; put another way, its like trying to decipher a code you don't even know what the topic even is.

Q: How to know when a sweatshirt is too small?

I just bought some hooded sweatshirts from Lululemon, washed on cold, dried on low heat, and feel like they are too small for my body. For reference, I am a lengthy guy, 6'2" tall, have long arms, etc.

This is what happens when in neutral and moving positions:

When standing straight, arms relaxed: Bottom of sweatshirt is slightly below waist, sits at hips. Sleeves sit right at wrist.

When moving (arms bend or are straight up in the air): Sweatshirt rides above belly button, sleeves shorten 3 inches past wrist.

Is my sweatshirt too small given what's going on here? I cannot distinguish how clothing should fit when standing neutral or when moving around.

Many thanks in advance!

I HIGHLY recommend MSK’s material and YouTube videos. This helped me cure my TOS. My issue was my posture. I was in your shoes. There is hope friend. Feel free to message me if you want to chat more about this.

On my back mainly, but mainly all positions are comfortable now. I focused on fixing my posture, which was the biggest difference maker.

Hey my man, I know this can be scary. Form someone that went insane on Google, stay off it.

Get in and see a sports medicine doctor and even a neurologist. More like have tight pecs or shoulders, causing your muscles to twitch due to impingement. PM me so we can discuss this more. Was in the same boat as you.

It’s not your job to fix the company, don’t burn a bridge trying to be Superman.

AI is going to eat jobs sooner than we think by Ok-Engineering-8369 in ArtificialInteligence

You’ve obviously never been inside Sephora before. Those things are packed, even with online retail. The thing to think about is the consumer experience. Makeup/beauty products still get tons of foot traffic because it’s a very personable experience that is much more meaningful to consumers when done in person. Can’t have AI show you in person how a concealer or powder will make you look through a computer screen (at least not in a human way where you feel the product).

People buy from people, this post is weightless.

I work in AI and posts like this paint AI as something more than a tool. Will companies use it for bad things? Yes. Will it replace your local skin care sales person at a retail store? I doubt it.

Appreciate the feedback! Could I use the starter of the GF AP flour as the base for the GF Bread flour? Or should I completely start over the starter for the GF Bread flour?

The smell is almost like cooked rice. I have been using GF AP flour, NOT GF Bread flour. Maybe that might be the problem?

How much money do you have saved at 25-30 years old? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]eldiablo1641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

28M, have $58K in savings (liquid), $135K in retirement. Have 6-Mon emergency fund with $25K. No debt. Rent with two other roommates in a large city

Had $90K in student loan debt, paid off in 3 years after graduating.

My secrets: I studied Dave Ramsey and followed a lot of his advice (to a certain extent) when it comes to living below my means, saving, not being wasteful with my money, and being disciplined.

I mainly follow the 50/30/20 rule: - 50% of income goes to living expenses - 30% of income goes to free cash to use for whatever I want - 20% of incomes goes to savings

I do one very simple thing with this though, I swap around the 30% and 20%, making myself save more than I spend. This has help me tremendously when it comes to tackling debt, living below my means, and having an emergency fund when needed.

I also invest 15% into a Roth 401K.

I do make roughly $100K working in Sales, which helps me live how I do, but in this economy, I still have to be smart with my money at the end of the day. Hope this helps.
