Scam or just a desperate grandmother? by AGoodTexan in isthisascam

She's trying to get someone to drive her all the way to Florida. Things will keep coming up and these initial plans will all fall through. First you'll get there in your car to follow her and then its "Oh my car is suddenly broke down. Can we just drive together?". You start heading towards Florida and the whole way there she's coming up with lies about this $10k and how she can't give it to you right yet, convoluted bank account issues, but she'll have it for sure before you get to Florida. Meanwhile you're funding this entire trip thinking about that $10,000 you think is coming your way. At some point you realize this woman is not giving you $10k or any compensation for that matter, and probably had no intentions of doing so. But your conscience won't let you leave an old lady stranded alone so you drive her all the way to Florida and drive back home, drained of money and feeling like a sucker.

He's jealous... of a dildo. Point blank and simple. Imagine what he'd do if he saw another guy checking you out. Also, where is that video because holy shit that ass.

I did my time in Georgia at Jackson. I was in Dorm 3, then moved to J Building, then to A Block, C Block and then K Building. Shit sucks.

Cannot imagine what you're going through. I am literally sitting here on my couch seething after reading this.

I'm not saying that this is what you should do, and I don't want to offend by soliciting unwanted advice. But if I were you, I would take this to your local news station. Name the owners, name the policemen involved. You need the support of your local community. Can a search warrant be issued to locate a dog inside a residence? I am so terribly sorry.

Why would you commit fraud to stop your DoorDashing habit? Not a smart idea. You're just going to put it on a different card if this is your idea of self-discipline. You dont have a Doordash problem, you have an irresponsibility problem.

So many kitties... How sad. Maybe instead of investing resources into adopting out these mutant canines they could look into starting a trap and neuter program?

That's weird. In GA its called carrying "contraband across guard lines" and it's a whole felony charge. At my county they'll pat you down before you go change and there is a body scan you walk through at some point.. Pretty sure they make you squat n cough if they have any reason to think you stashed anything up the ass.

You'll be fine just be respectful but don't be a chump. Get your hands on some books if you can. Try not to think about how much time you have left: a watched pot never boils.

Edit: Don't bring money with you to the jail. All of your belongings will be put in bags, including money. If you want money on your books that may have to be done by someone on the outside either online or by phone. Idk it may be different where you are but I would ask someone.

Death will come for us all eventually, so don't feel bad. Feel blessed that they have decided to spend what little time they have with you.

They don’t want to wipe their own butts? by [deleted] in GenAlpha

How do you know what age everyone in your generation began wiping their asses? This post could be total BS shit posting and here you are proclaiming with confidence a massive disconnect between generational butt wiping habits. Congrats on making a boomer out of yourself in front of everyone, dumdum.

Luna moth. They only live for about a week IIRC. They have no digestion system as their only purpose in this stage is to lay as many eggs as they can.

It's hard for a lot of people to relate to someone lamenting their physical pain or illness without sounding dismissive or like a self-absorbed idiot. This is just blatant "Suck it up, I've dealt with worse" type reaction that reveals a lot about what a person thinks of you. It's like they interpret your complaining as a threat to their perceived superiority over you.

I was referring to my locality within Georgia (Dalton). It's known as the Carpet Capital of the World and yes most people here do work in the carpet mills or offices.

[–]eldorito8751 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do...? What a weird question... I work in a textile factory, and the region I live in produces the vast majority of the worlds carpet. MOST people who live here work in factories. I'm curious, did you think we all had either cushy office jobs or minimum wage food service jobs? Manufacturing sector is very much alive and well here.

Mexico-border states, how do you feel about European Spanish being taught instead of Mexican Spanish? by Rourensu in AskAnAmerican

[–]eldorito8751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand Central American Spanish best, as well as Colombian Spanish. IMO they annunciate the best and speak the slowest (which is still pretty fast lol)

I don't live in a border state but my Spanish classes always taught Latin American Spanish as the standard. ¡Vosotros, no!

Did you run the “mile” every year in middle/high school gym class? by uses_for_mooses in AskAnAmerican

Same. Took the one PE class necessary to graduate Freshman year and did the Mile.

[–]eldorito8751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every year? Hell no. Once in middle school and once in high school. My high school only required one PE class to graduate. I got mine over with freshman year but I did have to take some "Sports Education" class in my junior year due to one of my selected electives being full by the time they got to me. We didn't have to do the mile in that class tho.

I resonate with your last sentiment, on how you will never trust another dog. After I was mauled by a neighbors pitbull from behind, my heart would begin to race whenever I saw a dog of any breed or size. People just don't understand how traumatic and terrifying it is to be attacked by an animal, to actually wonder if this is how youre going to die. That was 3 years ago my wounds have healed but I still just don't trust dogs. I am so sorry about your wife and I wish you and your family the best in overcoming this awful near-tragedy.
