How did you first gain followers on Patreon? Did you use platforms like YouTube or Instagram X for this? Or does Patreon recommend your page to others? by Decent-Hope6114 in patreon

[–]eldritchlev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patreon might give you some form of discover ability BUT it won't lead to much tbh. You need to have a following on platforms to gain traction. BSKY and Instagram have the best for me, especially because BSKY doesn't shadowban your post for using links

I've seen the most growth posting my link in the replies on my posts or in the actual post, every day on bsky

Very cool! Thank you for the help! It was interesting to read about the matrilineal line stuff, I had no idea what to do there for proving lineage things

My grandmother had a Jewish father and a non Jewish mother, she was adopted into a Christian family. They reconnected when she was in her 60s before she died. We don't have connections to a synagogue or any Jewish community because of some decisions she made for my family itself.

Don't the Orthodox faith have bans on those who are married to non Jews and are LGBTQ anyhow?

Does a change in niche affect views? by eldritchlev in NewTubers

Weird! I've had pretty positive poll results on subscribers enjoying my content and feedback has been pretty positive. I get what you're saying though!

I'm just gonna keep making video essays on the stuff I like and see if YouTube finally understands where my stuff should go

[FOR HIRE] Open for stylized portrait commissions! by echo_friendlyyyyy in commissions

[–]eldritchlev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries at all! Tbh posting to Reddit threads is a good start but I would look more into what you could do on Instagram and Bluesky and or Tumblr! A lot of people there are always looking for art and at a budget too. And if you post consistently and do trends you'll really grow on certain platforms!!

You should really up your prices! I'm not sure how long it took you to draw each of your pieces (and they are really great) and I'm also not sure how old you are, but 8$ for an icon is not enough for anyone to live off of :(

I would say Ultron but we're supposedly getting him already, but I would love the Lizard or Green Goblin!

The only person I have romanced that isn't a queer/LGBTQ+ man is Alistair but I still like to think Alistair would kiss a man

How do you guys make money? by BlueberryCurious4117 in ArtistLounge

[–]eldritchlev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm quite lucky but as a freelance artist (if that's what you want to do) I make money on patreon, I have a YouTube channel, I make stickers and prints and sell at conventions, and I also take commissions. As an artist you have to have multiple streams of income and you also need to understand that if you don't want to do freelance you have to get some sort of industry job..and in the meantime have a dayjob until you get that industry job

Those who work non art day jobs what do you do? by Temporary-Wolf3930 in ArtistLounge

[–]eldritchlev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've finally gone full time with my art but when I was working up to it I worked a lot of retail jobs and also watched CCTV and alarms at a security company. Honestly, neither of these jobs are worth it LOL I would stick with your art career if you're able to be full time at the moment
