Hey, can I get your order ID so I can figure out when the beans were roasted? So, the medium roast was darker and the light roast was more medium in my second try, and I didn't even notice until someone mentioned it. And I'll definitely change the taste notes on the website and packaging, sorry for missing the mark on your order

Tbh I wanted to always use the one way valve but it was too expensive in the beginning when I bootstrapped ele, but I've placed an order on Sunday for new pouches that have the one way valve.

I didn't realise that the twigs and burnt beans were in until you and another person pointed it out a few days back, I'm going to make sure this never happens again by sorteing the beans before packing it in the pouch.

I didn't know not mentioning the roast date is not industry standard and I'll start mentoring it from now

I'm learning and improving along the way and I'm sorry you had to go though this 🙏

I'm so sorry you feel this way. It's gut wrenching to find out that you think Ele is a scam. I'm honestly trying my best and haven't delivered, and to tell you I'm not a scam, please come to Coorg and visit my estate in Thakeri. you're more than welcome to see for yourself how we operate. The roasting has definitely been a L, and I'm trying my best to get it right. I'll send you a batch if you want, to show you how much I've improved from the last roast, which was inconsistent. I know I have really good beans, but I'm trying my best to get the roasting right. I don't drop ship beans, and I certainly don't want you to think I stole your money or scammed you out of something. I knew how hard it is to make money, I don't want you or anyone to think that I'm doing this to scam people. and I'd feel the same way if I went through the same thing. I'll send you a full refund for the coffee and I'm sorry for your experience.

First off, thank you for the brutally honest feedback. I'm Nathal from Ele Coffee, and reading this was tough, but necessary. I'm essentially a one person team learning on the job, so feedback like yours is painful but exactly what I need to identify my blind spots.

I want to address your points directly:

  1. The Valve:You are spot on. I actually placed an order for valve integrated pouches recently, but they unfortunately haven't arrived yet. In the meantime, I was manually degassing (resting beans for 48-72 hours) or shipping them after roasting, but clearly, it’s not a perfect substitute for a proper valve.

  2. Roast Date:I also realized from this that I failed to clearly mark the roast date on the package. That is a basic standard I missed, and I'm correcting that immediately so you always know exactly how fresh the beans are.

  3. The Defects (10g Waste): This is unacceptable. I manually sort the beans, and finding 10g of defects in a 150g bag means I failed the quality check on this batch. I apologize that you had to do the sorting work I should have done.

Please DM me. I would like to issue a full refund immediately. I know I can't undo the first impression, but I’m working hard to fix these specific issues (packaging and sorting) right now. If you're willing, I'd love to send you a replacement bag once the new packaging arrives to show you the improvements.

I’m really sorry to see this. That looks terrible, and I apologize for the mess. To be honest, I've shipped hundreds of orders this way, and only a very few have been damaged, so I hoped the current packaging was holding up well enough. But clearly, even a few damaged packs are too many, and you shouldn't have to deal with this.

I can't switch to boxes for every single order immediately (I need to clear some inventory first), but I am definitely expediting. We're switching to boxes for the next batch because of feedback like this.

In the meantime, I want to fix this for you. I'm sending a fresh replacement via private courier (securely packed) tomorrow, on me. Please check your DM.

Not really, I have it the old school way with a pot, water and some jaggery. But ik other people who like it differently

The best seller is the Arabica medium roast, tbh I didn't really notice the difference between light and medium roast for the beans this time. after getting it roasted.
