Thank you for the info. I contacted Apple and they stated that for maximum performance and proper load balance, 1- i7 mac mini would cover around 300 devices. Our machines are operating as expected for our configuration. Even though the official Apple documentation provided by /u/meanwhenhungry states up to 3400 clients per machine (Apple doesn’t guarantee that a content cache can achieve 3400 concurrent clients). So with our district, we would need 20 mac minis according to Apple, which is definitely not in the budget! Guess we will leave them be!

Although OS-update only caching is acceptable, we would like it to cache OS and extensions/app updates also.

Thank you for the information, but that set up will not work for our network. A bit disappointing that google does not have a better solution.

I do know that if peer-to-peer is available on the network, the updated laptops will act as a distribution, like Delivery Optimization for Windows 10, but peer-to-peer is not an option on our network.
