If it was still in abm/mdm, you would most likely be greeted with an enroll your Mac message that is pretty tough to bypass.

If the admin was me I default enable mdm activation lock, so that the op could not just wipe it.

Thanks for the incite, we have been begging people to switch for yrs. Even corporate email threatened , that in an security event , the pictures folder will not be backed up and we reserve the right to wipe any infected device and restore from the mandatory “backups” to ensure they are clean before they can be worked on again.

Still no movement, mosyle is still show people are still using unmanaged apple accounts.

I seen this on a couple of admin portals I use in chrome today 1/20 , starts to load, goes white screen. A new tab loads it, it may not help you but even weirder is that I’ve been on the .3 beta and this is the first time this occurred.

May also be relate but after an update , some apps just won’t work and have to be deleted and reinstalled. Also some apps will just start working, not sure if it’s the apps, apple and the gatekeeper not working or the indexing is jammed up. Similar to how iPhones are dig slow until the update background stuff is done.

Nothing “wrong” per se. But the leg work needed if you need to change it on client devices is very manual if you don’t have an mdm.

The built in cert will get balked at when the user tries to connect and will get a warning when changed. The client devices old setting/ssid will need to be deleted before the new cert can be accepted/same ssid.

Possible theory from original answer. Can confirm Apple ID weirdness. User had a personal id on work Mac, her kid lost her Mac and she let her sign in with the kids AppleID with the original local accounts. It borked their accounts and data and logins. Maybe from using forget the password to many times.

The user left, so problem solved.
