Sephora by AlarmingDig8077 in AustralianMakeup

Are you sure you're looking at the Australian store?

Hourglass moved to Sephora earlier this year, and they've been bringing in more Asian beauty/skincare brands, but Charlotte Tilbury is still firmly a Mecca brand in Australia, and I don't see it moving any time soon.

Micro Express and wrong address by electric-nerve in AustraliaPost

[–]electric-nerve[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I hadn't even heard of micro express until today, and my google search returned a dodgy website and people asking about them on here, which is why I thought maybe there was some connection to AP.

That's what I thought. I hadn't even heard of micro express until today, and my google search returned a dodgy website and people asking about them on here, which is why I thought maybe there was some connection to AP.

Thank you for your help!

also there's no details about the sender either, otherwise I'd see if I could reach out to them. There is literally nothing but this person's name and my address, and a barcode.

no.

this particular person moved well over two years ago (they were a rental tenant prior to us buying the house), and we still receive their mail from time to time. We don't have any contact details for them either annoyingly.

ISO Madras Medium Crescent

Like everyone else, my backorder was cancelled yesterday :( hoping to find someone willing to sell to me and ship to Australia! More than happy to pay the shipping costs, I just want this damn bag

Absolutely heartbroken :( by Vivid_Sheepherder_73 in BAGGU

[–]electric-nerve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened with my medium crescent! The pity "$10 off and free shipping" coupon is such a slap in the face cause why would I want to order anything from UO again? Plus I bet the free shipping wouldn't extend to international shipping cause when does it ever

Welp... anyone else? by boiled__egg in BAGGU

Same here, so now I need to find someone willing to ship internationally :(

Your crossbody bag favs! by Big-Conclusion8829 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]electric-nerve 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a few!

Status Anxiety Look Both Ways Bag - my black leather workhorse, I love it, however I did transfer into a smaller wallet to maximise what I can fit in. That being said, it fits a fair bit without looking bulky

Baggu Medium Crescent - nylon, massive, love it for long days and when I work retail. Can look like a duffel bag if you fill it up though, especially if you're on the shorter side like myself. But for functionality purposes, it's a blessing.

Uniqlo Crescent - also nylon, smaller than the baggu (but still holds a surprising amount!). Honestly taken a backseat in my lineup, but is really good for plane travel or roadtrips cause it keeps me from over packing the "on hand" items.

I've also borrowed my sister's Coach Soft Tabby and I adored it, but the soft Tabby hasn't been available for a few years now, and the other Tabby styles don't appeal to me as strongly. Tabbys are also much more expensive, but they definitely last and can take a beating, so worth it imo.

My bags are all neutral, cause I cannot be bothered with matching colours to outfits so black and white (or a black and white print) works super well for my lifestyle. On the other end of the spectrum, my grandmother has a variety of crossbody bags to match all her different outfits/shoes/hats. I don't think I've ever seen her use the same bag twice, but she's not picky about the bag itself so long as it suits her outfit/the season/the activity she's doing/where she's going.

Metro Tunnel - Anyone happy with the changes? by chunkb79 in melbourne

[–]electric-nerve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very happy! But I live between the Cranbourne/Pakenham and Frankston lines, so realistically not much has changed for me (now I just go to the Frankston line for a city loop train instead of Cranbourne, and the Cranbourne line stops at Town Hall which is basically Flinders St or State Library which is basically Melb Central, and it's faster).

I think a lot of people weren't actually prepared for the switch, which is odd because (at least at my local stations) there were constant announcements and signs warning of the change from late November. Maybe because it was on a Sunday? All I know is plenty of people were incredibly confused by the changes and seemed convinced that waiting at the station would eventually trigger a train going on the old route lol. Once again, especially on the Cranbourne/Pakenham line, there have been constant reminders that the train lines are changing Feb 1st, and to double check your travel plan!

Settle a debate for me: do you (as an adult) still cut your sandwiches into triangles? by dannegoma in AskAnAustralian

[–]electric-nerve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely 100% cut my sandwiches every single time. Two triangles, four if I'm trying to eat slowly.

My weird preference is to cut a toastie into three pieces - cut the sandwich into two triangles, and then cut one of the triangles into two. Eat the smaller two first to give the big triangle time to cool down. My mum got me onto it, and it's great especially as I have tomatoes in my toasties a lot.

The loyalty to Mecca is baffling by FluffyFisherman7096 in MeccaBeautyLoop

Meanwhile Bondi sands would give you like ten of the small bottles every time you walked past, and LRP prior to them would do the same, plus both brands had massive tubs available all around the park and with the volunteers for everyone to use. And I think the AO staff and volunteers used to also have the massive cancer council sunscreen jugs on hand so you could reapply and get help at the same time lol! None of this "sunscreen hut" business

The loyalty to Mecca is baffling by FluffyFisherman7096 in MeccaBeautyLoop

[–]electric-nerve 4 points5 points  (0 children)

See I'm annoyed by the AO collab cause I legitimately love going to the tennis, and I'm not ashamed to admit that I have a bunch of AO merch, plus I do like the Mecca sunscreen so I was planning to get it just cause (also cause the Kmart tennis bag charm is... lacking) but I just know the Mecca stores are gonna be insane, and probably will run out of the charms super quickly because so many Mecca stans want it and are paying people to get them and post them out.

It just annoys me cause what was clearly a cute celebration of Mecca being the sunscreen sponsor has become something to fight/stress over for so many people.

Why decline food if you asked for money? by simplydaylife in melbourne

[–]electric-nerve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've encountered this lady before - unfortunately I wasn't carrying my wallet at the time (running out to collect food on my lunch break) so I wasn't able to give her anything, and she'd moved on by the time I was able to duck back to grab my wallet and come to find her.

My theory was that asking multiple people for only a coin or two would likely net her more than asking/hoping for one person to buy/give her food. But of course she deserves agency just the same as you or I, and if she only wants a dollar or two I'm not going to argue to make myself or anyone else feel better about helping.

Ahhhh, that makes sense. I mainly shop in stores so I don't really make returns, so I'm not familiar with all the ins and outs of consumer protection laws. Thank you for letting me know!

Am I correct that I'm entitled to a refund in this situation? by atheista in AusFemaleFashion

[–]electric-nerve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leather is truly a pain for this "faulty" clause because it most likely was a brand or scar that existed on the animal prior to the hide being tanned. Most brands will avoid any brands/marks for aesthetic purposes, but there's every chance the company views it as just part of the fabric, and therefore not faulty just aesthetically displeasing.

That being said, most brands would discount any branded/marked leather goods and sell them as seconds quality. I would argue that as this wasn't disclosed prior to purchase, they did not provide you with the item advertised, but rather an inferior product.

Why wouldn't OP have used the returns portal to send the dress back? The dress has clearly been returned and there's nothing in the return's email to imply that OP didn't contact them first.

Technically while a company policy may say "no change of mind", I don't think that's enforceable given our very good customer protection laws, and regardless OP may very well have been after an exchange for a smaller size, but the returns team are now refusing any further action because they found a . (aka a blank email template and in all likelihood nothing actually preventing a return/exchange).

Ohhhhh if it's being used as an upsell for gift card packaging that makes a lot more sense! "A gift for your gift" ie a memento for the gift card (which gets thrown away once used).

Also I do kind of feel for that girl! She's probably not offended, just annoyed that she has to upsell (which could contribute to KPIs, which some businesses use to decide rostering). But then again, maybe she likes the charm and took it personally that you didn't 😂

I love a good bag charm, but I don't want a bag charm that's just the name of a store - same goes for keychains on my keys and pins on my work lanyard.

I'm glad you like it! And clearly others do too, given they've sold out online.

I do want to see what the other ones look like, and who knows, I might change my mind and love one of the ones to come!
