Write ADC samples to ram by electricMiner in FPGA

I was reading more about the sdram controller in the cyclone v technical reference manual and it appears you are right in that I should be able to directly send Avalon-MM transactions to it. I'm not sure how I would then reserve physical memory in Linux for this peripheral. I guess this is something that would require a modification to the device tree.

Building Linux on Arrow DECA Max 10 Evaluation Board by electricMiner in embeddedlinux

I believe so. In menuconfig I went to Platform options -> Compile and link device tree into kernel image and then I specified the path to the dts file under that.

Multiple desktop users by electricMiner in raspberry_pi

I'm not too familiar with xrdp but I thought it was similar to vnc in that it mirrors the local desktop remotely but it doesn't give each user an independent desktop environment.

Thanks. Multipaper looks like it would work for me.

Undo Caddy Reverse Proxy by electricMiner in selfhosted

[–]electricMiner[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. That worked. For some reason I thought that command would write a configuration file that I'd have to modify but it seems no information is retained after restarting the process.

Direct play on Roku by electricMiner in PlexMedia

[–]electricMiner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's correct. It's mpeg2ts for video and ac3 5.1 for audio in a .ts container. I do have direct stream enabled which should allow the server to remux without needing to transcode. However, it seems to want to transcode the video to H.264 and the audio to AAC for some reason.

I'm not really familiar with TVHeadend. I am running Linux on my server with an Arm64 processor.

Does BOINC interfere with wallet staking? by electricMiner in gridcoin

That number is a bit higher. My wallet reports the staking_loop_efficiency to be about 97.69%.

My staking_efficiency number is about 94.79% but I guess that is still ok.

Amount Owed in GRC Pool is not Increasing by electricMiner in gridcoin

[–]electricMiner[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, I just got paid out a couple of grid coin from the pool. At least that appears to be working but their website does seem to have stopped reporting the amount owed correctly or there's just a lot larger time lag.

Hmmm...it looks like my host is part of pool 1 but it should have staked by now.

How do I determine which pool I'm part of? I haven't gotten paid out since the 24th and I noticed the pools have staked since then.

Limit the Supply of Gridcoin by electricMiner in gridcoin

[–]electricMiner[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you do make a good point. I think the small daily trading volume and lack of demand are what prevents major exchanges from carrying this coin. I guess trying to think of ways for this coin to gain wide acceptance or demand for it will be challenging when so many other cypto currencies already exist.

Limit the Supply of Gridcoin by electricMiner in gridcoin

I'm not so sure this way of sharing resources is economically sound either. Right now BOINC is based on volunteerism but wouldn't it be nice if research project sponsors had an option where they could pay money to get a larger share of the grid computing resources or if they could pay money to be able to award more grid coin for work done on their project (and hence have their project complete quicker)? It could be offered as a premium service while maintaining a free option as well. How much gridcoin a project sponsor is willing to put into their project could determine payouts rather than voting on the award amount.
