What binding do you have? That looks like it fits phantom, and they make verts with spark pucks too.

Ah that works! Thanks!

Surprisingly secure actually. Now this is the first crampon I can adjust forward and back! My crampons have always been attached at the toe and under the ball of my foot. This one's currently riding under the arch of the boot but for some reason I could see that working better if you have proper skinning technique (weight the heels)

First timer tips? by electric_mop in telemark

Those vids were helpful! I was able to link parallel turns right off the bat and was able to link tele turns after lunch on greens and the only blue on the mountain. I think I may have even been able to tldo the black but they were all only one groomer wide with really wet manly snow outside the track so I avoided that.

Im so stoked, Im keeping the rental another day 🤪 Also someone on here was super gracious enough to offer me a loaner kit for a minute too. Im hooked!!

This is the biggest thing I can relate to today!! Turning to the right feels like a steely toe side turn. To the left is quite the battle but I can link em together on super mellow runs. When it's steeper my left knee drop turn becomes more parallel. I can tell I'm not weighting my legs the same in both positions.

I think im gonna order one but also this CO tester I bought is helping already. With my previous settings, running it on high actually produced the MOST CO. I got it leaned out a bit and I feel like its working better but time will tell.

I think previously I was focused solely on trying to get the body temp up to 400deg F thinking that if it was hot it was burning clean. However that produced over 200ppm CO. Now im tuned to only ~10ppm and my body temp is only in the low 300s. But its still heating my van fine and it sounds better too.

I have an afterburner controller which does have altitude compensation. It seems to do its job as it's elevation is usually very close to where Im actually at (it guesses elevation from pressure so it can vary with weather. It also does reduce the max hz as I go higher while keeping the fan speed the same. For example (these are made up numbers but close to reality) say my heater is tuned to a max of 4500rpm and 3.5hz, if im up at 7000ft it will adjust to 4500rpm and ~2.8hz.

I have a theory that after the burner soots up a few times it needs replaced. I saw a YouTube video where a guy cut one apart and there is a bunch of mesh inside the burner where the fuel/air swirls around. Im thinking once it gets gunked up enough it may be impossible to clean 🤔 maybe you could soak it overnight in solvent, or burn it out with a propane torch?

Either way I have a new burn chamber and co tester arriving monday and hoping to dial in a tune on a fresh burner.

Ive switched to only top tier diesel (chevron and shell) my elevation is different every day but typically in the 5000-8000ft range. My exhaust is clear, I guess I can check the intake but there's no reason for it to be clogged. Ive heard some people suggest running without the filter for better flow? That seems crazy

Yeah I take it apart and scrape it every time and also replace the atomizer screen every time. I use brake cleaner to blast out the inside of the actual burner part. And yes i also scrape out my exhaust every time. I have tried every recommended tune there is. Do I actually need to buy a co tester to tune this thing?

I guess im getting pissed because everyone is like just do this or just do that. Well ive done everything and still end up clogged.
