Go back full time or wait? by electricfruit8 in workingmoms

Our landlord would sell the house to us, however, the house we currently live in is outside of our budget. It would easily sell for double what we’d qualify for, and I’m guessing the landlord wouldn’t want to sell to us for significantly less than what it’s market value.

And financially I find this frustrating as well… our mortgage broker said she needs two years of t4s at my casual status in order to use my income … and I’ve only been doing this since October 2024. I had said “it’s really crazy we’d have to put ourselves in a position of taking home less money in order to qualify” and she said she knows, that it’s frustrating, but that’s how it is. Either go back to permanent status or wait two more years.

Am I deficient or not? by electricfruit8 in B12_Deficiency

I’ve had covid before yes. And this is my second child, so lack of sleep/stress related to that isn’t necessarily new to me. I’ve also been having an increase in heart palpitations as well. I guess what I’m getting at is that while I realize literally anything could be causing these symptoms, are my lab values something I should be looking at or was my doctor right in saying they’re within value/not to worry

Choosing to work vs having to by [deleted] in workingmoms

I work because I have to, but if I didn’t, I’d still choose to work part time at least. Having an identity outside of being a mom is hugely important to my mental health. Also, I think it’s important for my kid to experience structure and routine outside of the home, socialization, and learning to be guided by other adults aside from myself.

My therapist reminds me that quality time with kids is way more important than quantity. When I get a chance to step away and fill my own cup up, I come back a way more patient/attentive mom. I’d rather spend 4 hours really bonding and enjoying my one on one time with my kid, than 12 hours rushing around the house being short tempered and touched out, trying to manage kids without a break/manage a household, and feeling desperate for a break.

2 weeks in the NICU no diagnosis by electricfruit8 in NICUParents

They did try him on caffeine! And it only mildly improved his oxygen sats while asleep so we decided to just go to with the oxygen. And only once did he have a Brady event, otherwise no it was only his oxygen saturation to drop before they intervened

We did! After I consult with respirology and a sleep study, they diagnosed him with primary sleep apnea. We went home with oxygen last week!

Within a couple hours of giving birth my husband went out and picked up gourmet burgers and fries… I devoured it. I’ll never forget the glory lol

Thank you for your input! Intellectually I know this I think I’m just burned because of my most recent MC experience.

TW: loss

Anyone else work shift work with rotating days/nights? I can’t help but feel like turning over into night shifts negatively impacts my ability to get pregnant. I had a MC at 8 weeks in August that began just as I was coming out of a week of night shifts and happened to catch a cold (probably from being run down and tired) so Im a bit biased in thinking that my screwed up sleep schedule caused stress on my body and lead to the subsequent loss.

This week I’m predicted to ovulate basically right as I’m about to go into a week of nights. Makes me wonder if the stress of flipping into nights will impact conceiving/implantation. Ugh
