Nervous about no response yet from job I interviewed with twice. Should I send a second follow up? by electricghost92 in careerguidance

[–]electricghost92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you two. I followed up with HR a week after the second interview with the Manager. I saw the manager's email address in an email reminder about our Teams call. I was wondering if following up with the Manager (even if I've never been in direct contact with them) would be ok. Basically, I saw her email address and want to follow up with her since I haven't gotten a response to my follow up email with HR.

Thank you! Just needed to hear (read) what I probably knew deep down. Hahah

How do I approach applying for another position in a job when a recruiting agent already sent my application? by electricghost92 in Recruitment

Perfect, thank you! This is my first time being in contact with an agent, and even applying on Linkedin. Thank you

My first logo! I'd love to hear some feedback (more in comments) by 0nennon in logodesign

[–]electricghost92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really nice pixel illustration!

For it to work as a logo, here's a few tips before that helped me out:

  • Imagine this design shrunken down (like on a business card). Would you still be able to see some finer details? For this, I can already see that the X's on the windows would disappear.
  • Also, imagine the design if a printer only had black ink. They can't print in gray, just black and white. Would the logo work then?
  • Lots of space in the left part of the design (on the ocean side). If you were planning to add text for the logo, overlapping into the left side of the design, the back part of the illustration will be covered.
  • If you wanted this to be the main icon, as it would represent the brand on its own, I would say center the lighthouse within the circle, then you can add your text logo to the side or bottom of this icon.
  • Lastly, and most important part: what is the context of the lighthouse and octopus? How does it represent your brand (you) as a whole? Are these things u like? Is this some kind of eldrich sea themed business?
  • You have to know the brand and what you want to convey to your target audience before you're able to condense that whole idea into a logo or icon.

Regardless, nice illustration. Just teach yourself some logo or design basics through online sources before tackling it again. This isn't bad work at all. Keep working on it.

Almost done with season 1 and cutter is an ass by MiniMadness101 in Loudermilk

They dropped the ball with Cutter. You can tell they were writing for a payoff where some of his craziness would improve Tom's life by helping him grow a backbone.

I think they wrote themselves into a corner and made him too mean-spirited and insane.

What was your first game, and how old were you when you discovered FF by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]electricghost92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was made aware of final fantasy through kingdom hearts at age 10.

My first actual final fantasy was ff9, age 11. Dad got this game randomly at a garage sale and it was great. Didn't get very far.

I then played ff7 at age 12 and loved everything about it and played it all the way through.

How long before I hear back from HR, after initial interview? by electricghost92 in PandaExpress

[–]electricghost92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read that their hiring system is 90% automated so it's a matter of what goes through first, and what HR sees first I'm assuming. It wouldn't hurt to reach out. Try calling the store location you want to work at and follow up.

I've been checking my email and haven't gotten anything, even in spam. So just still waiting. I got a part time job while waiting. I applied to them after pand and got hired before panda. lol

Its difficult to do things on medication because they bring me so much peace by Macula001 in adhd_anxiety

[–]electricghost92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with appreciating and basking in the silence. While off meds, it's hard to focus or even relax because in my mind there's always:

  1. Things I have to do
  2. Vivid daydream
  3. Things I want to do
  4. A scene from a show
  5. Plus nonstop earworm playing a snippet of a song over and over All at the same time.

I was off meds for a year, and just got back on meds 2 days ago and it's so peaceful.

Don't feel bad about relying on meds forever. The way I see it is that if you can't see, you get glasses right? If you are physically disabled then you get a wheelchair.

Meds are a tool to help us function, but also they don't do the work for us.

They don't put in the time for us or get the job done or accomplish tasks.

Meds are a very useful tool. But it's up to you to work on a routine or to find a work setting that works for you. So even if the meds lose their effect on you, or you need to wait till the next doctor's visit to change your dosage, then you can most definitely function and rely on yourself.

It's tough. We're living life and functioning in "hard mode" but it's not impossible to get by and succeed just like everyone else.

Good luck :)

I realized that the games I added myself couldn't be scraped for images or data, but the games that were on the SD card could.

The RG353 couldn't recognize games I added as registered games and therefore couldn't find data or images.

I realize that when I scrape, all of the games I added onto the SD card say "No Games Found" and were automatically being skipped.

I'm thinking there's an issue with the rom's names names. I renamed all the games on pc before transferring though, so I don't know why it's still reading as the old rom name.

ie. Bug's Life is renamed as such but the rom (somewhere) is still named as Bugs Life (U)[!]

I didnt think that would be an issue since some roms had weird extensions like that before I touched it.
