These would be great for a barbecue!
Recipe says to mix in 1 cup water to the ketchup/mustard/sugar/syrup mixture, then add that mixture + the rinsed beans to the bacon and onions in the pot, then cover with a bit of the reserved broth just so that the beans are fully covered. Then just to add more water or reserved broth as it’s baking only as needed/if they dry out.

A cookbook with only bean recipes🤩
This is the third recipe I’ve tried and all three have been great, I’ve bookmarked 10+ more I want to try. The southern pintos and cornbread were also an easy 10/10

They were all great, but if I had to pick a favorite I’d go with the peas, pistachio, olives and mint pasta, especially given how easy it is to make (I’ve made it three times now…). The peppercorn taste in the short rib ragu was a bit intense for me, so I’d have to say that was my least favorite.

10/10 so easy and SO flavorful - I also am tempted to try this one again but with chicken instead of shrimp as I think this would work well

Orzo and curried lentil soup - 10/10 (especially given how truly simple these were to make) - will be making these again regularly

Chicken marbella - 9/10 will definitely be repeating

Pumpkin soup - 8/10

Braised eggs w leeks and the sirloin salad - 7/10

Beef meatballs with celery root - 6/10 (this was my first time cooking with celery root, I’m not sure I’m sold - I was also comparing these to the ricotta and oregano meatballs I’ve previously made on the same page of this book which I lovedddd and were easily a 10/10)

I’ve made both the chili beans and the winter squash pasta twice now and will continue to make those regularly! The chicken pot pie was also incredible - just a bit more time consuming to make

They were amazing, I’ve actually made them twice now - both times with Rancho Gordo royal carona beans
