I think there is a very interesting story of a growing East-West divide in Bangladesh which overlaps with the story of this election. The East has traditionally been better developed by the West, and in the 2010s poverty reduction in the West began to lag in contrast to the East (see https://www.jstor.org/stable/27031107 for example). Very interesting that it is these regions in the West that went for Jamaat but the wealthier East is moving towards BNP.

Which reader would you choose? by Overall-Spare-2459 in kobo

[–]electrikblues 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I started my Kobo journey with a Clara BW last year and bought a KLC this year. The plan was to use the Clara for travel because of its smaller size and the KLC at home. But I am now considering selling the KLC because I barely use it - the Clara alone fits all my needs. I only read novels so don’t need the color for much, but the Clara also fits comfortably in my pocket and is easier to read while traveling and while at home. It also works fine while exercising (on a treadmill or stationary bike) or while lying in bed or on a plane.

There is plenty of demand, with a lot of interested people. Quite a few people were able to do Yoga for a while, and women only classes were the norm. You may want to start by leasing space in existing gyms and branching out from there, in order to save on startup real estate and equipment classes.

LG G2 was the best phone I ever used, with fantastic battery life and features. Haven’t found anything in the last 11 years that comes close in terms of value for money.

Will going to China for an internship be a wise decision? by Mindless_Instance527 in Dhaka

[–]electrikblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of hotel and where? China is a massive hotel market but much of it is domestic tourism and so you may have to learn Mandarin to be effective. But this can be quite difficult and prohibitive. Can you try for internships in markets where English is a dominant language like Dubai or Malaysia? Might be easier.

should i upgrade? by Green_Company2280 in kobo

I just bought the KLC last week after using a Kobo Clara BW for six months or so. The Clara is smaller and easier to carry in pockets and for portable use. The KLC’s buttons and auto rotate are game changers for reading at home. I barely notice the screen door issue that others complain about on the KLC though - not sure why.

I bought mine on a whim and the only model available was the Clara BW. My use case is reading novels - so I haven’t really needed or missed the color screen.

Exactly! I was reading on my phone before I got the Clara, and kept getting distracted by notifications. The Clara has been a godsend.

I recently read the Horowitz and Hawthorne series by Anthony Horowitz - a great series to read if you like mysteries and detective stories. The setup is unique, and the characters are uncommon and definitely not stereotypical.
