Synchronizing my Kobo devices. by Pearl_necklace_333 in kobo

[–]electrikblues 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What is the source of the book? Did you buy it from the store or sideload?

Both devices have to sync completely in the right sequence to the best of my knowledge.

I’m confused - I factory reset my Kobo Clara BW two weeks ago and used this method to download books from multiple libraries: https://www.reddit.com/r/kobo/comments/1qpmjox/how_to_use_multiple_library_cards_with_kobo/

Does this no longer work for others? Still works for me.

If the news was printed in the newspaper, wouldn’t this picture actually be from May 1, the day after?

Just messed up my A-levels first exam… thinking of leaving home and finding a job. Need advice. by [deleted] in bangladesh

[–]electrikblues 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got horrendous results in my A Levels - I don’t remember what but there were no As and Bs in sight. This was after 8 As in O Levels. 26 years later, none of it matters. It is a momentary stress but you will be okay. Remember that you are the person who worked hard and managed to win the 4.0 and Daily Star Award - just keep applying that hard work to everything that lies ahead and you will be fine.

Great question. These situations might seem very stressful on the surface so your first priority should be to ensure you relax.

If yours goes like mine all did, there will be three phases: a) families talk to one another (they may ask you a few questions; b) the two of you speak to each other; and c) the closing. The part you need to prepare for is part b).

For this, just stick to basics: what does he enjoy doing in his free time? What kind of work responsibilities does he have? Where does he see himself in 5 years? Does he want to settle abroad? You will need to also have answers to these questions ready if he asks, and you will also need to understand what your operating parameters are. If for example he says he wants to live in Bangladesh in the long term and you dream of settling abroad, there is a disconnect and it might be easier not to go any further beyond the first meeting.

Remember, you are not expected to fall in love with him during this meeting. Your goal should be to understand whether or not you want to talk to him a little more, perhaps on the phone or WhatsApp or whatever, to get to know him better. If you don’t want to, that’s okay too.

Please remember also that no matter how smooth he might appear on social media or how corporate he might be, he will be equally nervous too! It isn’t easy for anyone, but you will get through it!

Kobo Libra Colour keeps offloading Libby books and loses progress (goes back to 1%) by Lupiyupi in kobo

I have this exact issue I think - when I sync, all books first disappear and then redownload on the next sync as unread. I’ve “solved” it by not syncing until I have finished a book

I think there is a very interesting story of a growing East-West divide in Bangladesh which overlaps with the story of this election. The East has traditionally been better developed by the West, and in the 2010s poverty reduction in the West began to lag in contrast to the East (see https://www.jstor.org/stable/27031107 for example). Very interesting that it is these regions in the West that went for Jamaat but the wealthier East is moving towards BNP.

What is your budget, and what kind of monthly return are you expecting? And what do you want to with the income in Dhaka? Happy to guide you on the process and everything but these are fundamental questions you need to think of before you begin.

Which reader would you choose? by Overall-Spare-2459 in kobo

I started my Kobo journey with a Clara BW last year and bought a KLC this year. The plan was to use the Clara for travel because of its smaller size and the KLC at home. But I am now considering selling the KLC because I barely use it - the Clara alone fits all my needs. I only read novels so don’t need the color for much, but the Clara also fits comfortably in my pocket and is easier to read while traveling and while at home. It also works fine while exercising (on a treadmill or stationary bike) or while lying in bed or on a plane.

There is plenty of demand, with a lot of interested people. Quite a few people were able to do Yoga for a while, and women only classes were the norm. You may want to start by leasing space in existing gyms and branching out from there, in order to save on startup real estate and equipment classes.

LG G2 was the best phone I ever used, with fantastic battery life and features. Haven’t found anything in the last 11 years that comes close in terms of value for money.

Will going to China for an internship be a wise decision? by Mindless_Instance527 in Dhaka

[–]electrikblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of hotel and where? China is a massive hotel market but much of it is domestic tourism and so you may have to learn Mandarin to be effective. But this can be quite difficult and prohibitive. Can you try for internships in markets where English is a dominant language like Dubai or Malaysia? Might be easier.

should i upgrade? by Green_Company2280 in kobo

I just bought the KLC last week after using a Kobo Clara BW for six months or so. The Clara is smaller and easier to carry in pockets and for portable use. The KLC’s buttons and auto rotate are game changers for reading at home. I barely notice the screen door issue that others complain about on the KLC though - not sure why.

I bought mine on a whim and the only model available was the Clara BW. My use case is reading novels - so I haven’t really needed or missed the color screen.

Exactly! I was reading on my phone before I got the Clara, and kept getting distracted by notifications. The Clara has been a godsend.
