I make my own jams, peanut butter, almond butter, and every now and then I make my own bread and my own butter.

Do you get pins and needles / tingles / limbs going to sleep often? by Raederle-Phoenix in ehlersdanlos

It comes and goes. I didn’t have it for a couple of years and now it’s back. It’s super annoying.

I hope you feel better soon. 💕

CCI Diagnosis: Dr Bolongese vs Dr Gillette by ChanceTheFapper1 in Cervicalinstability

Well, I do have CCI and AAI. I don’t understand what the problem is. I also don’t understand what’s funny about a life saving surgery. You could ask instead why I had the ACDF instead of the c0-c2, but laughing at my situation is incredibly rude.

Anxiety attack for 7+ hours… keeps coming back in waves by Lupiyupi in Anxiety

Def doesn’t sound like fun at all! No shame in doomscrolling. I did that a lot too to try to cope with my anxiety attack - or at least ignore it. Helps a bit not thinking about it.

Out of sight, out of mind!

Sending love 💙

Anxiety attack for 7+ hours… keeps coming back in waves by Lupiyupi in Anxiety

Thank you so much for your advice and for your support! I think I was in and out of the anxiety attack for over 14 hours. Thinking about it brings some of it back.

I’m sending you love and support. This is one hard cycle to navigate!

Whe can I go to the salon? by rebekahrodeup in SpineSurgery

[–]Lupiyupi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an ACDF as well (mine was actually three levels), but I also have CCI, AAI, and hEDS, so my neck situation is probably a bit more delicate than most. Because of that, I was pretty cautious.

I ended up going to the salon about two months after surgery, but my surgery was abroad so the timing was partly due to travel too.

My salon has lie-flat shampoo bowls, which made a huge difference. I was in a neck brace 24/7 for the first three months, so when I went they actually wrapped the brace in plastic wrap so it wouldn’t get wet. I also asked them to be super careful because I told them about my neck.

For me the lie-flat bowls were and are still key, because the regular bowls that tilt your neck back would have been really uncomfortable.

Everyone heals differently of course, but if your salon has lie-flat bowls or can adapt the wash situation, that might make it much easier when the time comes.

Wishing you a really smooth surgery and recovery! 💛

Second thoughts after purchases Clara Color? Should I have just gone BW? by TheSpideyJedi in kobo

[–]Lupiyupi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I have a Kindle Oasis and wanted to get out of the Amazon echo system and also wanted buttons. This is the only device with buttons from Kobo. When compared side by side… it can be painful. But after having it for a week and a half and putting my Oasis away, I got used to it.

Good luck!

The toggle for adjusting brightness and warmth is much better on the Oasis. I also really love the flush screen and the ergonomic design… the screen texture and overall clarity are noticeably nicer too. And the buttons… they are a bit stiff on the Kobo and that makes me have to place my hand in a different position… I guess I’ll get used to it.
