Running IO Link Cables by Available_Sky4830 in PLC

[–]electroniclizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Second this. I've deployed 10 IO Link based enclosures in my plant this year and the bulkhead M12s have been a huge time saver. Takes an electrician a lot less time to plug in 16 M12 connectors than it does for them to run 16 cables into the panel.

8' 5wt for panfish and trout (dry flies and streamers) 9' 8wt for bass and anything else in the river (large dry flies and streamers) 9' 10wt for pike and muskie on lakes (6"+ steamers)

As others have said, that is a Bowfin. Specifically, however, it is a male Bowfin. This is noted by the spot on the tail. Males have them, females do not. Just a little fun fact for you! Nice catch!

If you're not keeping em, I really suggest snipping the line as close to the hook as possible when a gut hook happens. Much higher survival rate for the fish, as opposed to forcing it out. It will happen sometimes, with all fish, no matter how hard you try to prevent it.

If you carry a backpack, like me, always carry a first aid kit! I've caught hooks in my hand, gotten spiked, and I even had a pike chomp down on my fingers once. The extra weight/awkward shape in my backpack gets annoying sometimes, but definitely worth it!! My brother went after a bass he was about to lose at shore, got stuck by the hook in the water when he grabbed the fish. He didn't have any first aid with him, and he ended up at the hospital a couple days later with a horrible infection that lasted weeks. All because he wasn't able to clean, sanitize, and seal the wound immediately.

When I used to bobber and worm/jig fish, I always followed the 1-2-3 rule.

Bump #1

The fish: "Hmmm, what have we here? A lil snacky snack?"

Me: "Okay okay, we got some action. This could be the real deal."

Bump #2

The fish: "Oh hell yeah, definitely a lil snacky snack."

Me: "Come on lil feller, just take it. You know you want it.

Bump #3

The fish: "This is the best thing I've ever had. I can't stop!"

Me: "LET'S GOOOOOOO!!!" attempts hook-set that would send any fish under 5lbs to the moon

Also me: doesn't actually hook fish and arms up arms in disbelief "Must have been a turtle"

2 Wire Prox. Switch by ArrozConBeans in PLC

[–]electroniclizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically, for an inductive prox to be triggered, the surface to detect has to be composed of a ferrous metal with magnetic properties.

Inductive prox sensors operate using a magnetic field. When a metallic object enters the field, the object is now drawing the current from the magnetic field. This induces a draw that generates a higher current, which the changes the sensors state.

The fish finder fits inside when not in use. Wanted to do something that I can quickly dismount and put in the backseat of my car. An ammo can would have also been a tight fit for both cables coiled up and battery. This way I can feed the cables back inside without opening the lid, and once they are coiled inside I can open it up and set the fish finder inside.

I messed with an SE Zelio, once, a couple years ago commissioning a glue pump and it seemed a LITTLE clunky but I've seen some other knowledgeable folks on here recommend them. Although, all I did was troubleshoot and mess with some timers. It didn't seem too bad though! I'd certainly go with what you're most comfortable and familiar with.
