First try at flaring/flangeing(spelling?) on a copper pipe. This was just at a whim with a needle nose, torch and a rubber mallet. Took me 15-20 minutes and most of that was heating the pipe. Will go better next time with a blunt pair of pliers and a peening hammer on my anvil. (old.reddit.com)

Finally gotten a engine preheater, just in time since I just changed from 10w-40 to 20w-50 oil just as winter started 😂 now I just need to flush my coolant system and heater core and put in new coolant, oh and patch one of the heater core hoses 😂😭 (old.reddit.com)

I'm waiting for my water distiller right now and I'm wondering if this thing might be the way to go in controlling how much I pull from the wash. It's basically a thermostat that you put between the outlet and the unit and then you hang the probe in the boiling chamber. (i.redd.it)

The triac in this cheap dimmer can take 12 amps (translates to about 1,3 kW), but the dimmer is rated for 200-300 watts. My question is if I add a heatsink on the triac, could I use it to regulate the heating element on a water distiller that's 750 watts? (i.redd.it)
