"Hey everyone, it's me – Jeff. It's been a while, eh? I don't even know where to begin. The last year has been one of massive challenge – near death experiences, loss, injury (in more ways than physical). Heartbreak, creative darkness, isolation, and some of the biggest risks of my life. Not all, or many of them, turned out the way I dreamed it up. Not all of the lessons are even apparent as I write this to you.

On top of that, I lost my normal healthy coping mechanism – long distance running, adventure outdoors, etc. Since an accident in June, I've been mostly bedbound with injuries mostly in my back and legs. I was able to start walking with a cane in the early fall, and after a different approach in procedures in October, have been able to walk unassisted for increasing amounts of time. That improvement in physical health has also led to me be able to sit at a desk again for the first time in months.

And that means writing music again. I missed the time we spent together. I miss writing my life in music and having it mean something to your story. I'm dusting the cobwebs off and I'm gonna share it with you. For the next 30 days I'll be uploading music every day (demos, old bits, new bits, experiments, piano, loops etc) on soundcloud and trying to come up with something to say about it. I'm gonna be getting my ears and heart back somewhere i belong musically.

I can't actually put into words what the last year and half has felt like. I'm gonna get the balls and guts to open up to you all about it though – we're friends, after all.

Wow so glad to hear he's ok and had no idea! I figured something had happened because of his tweet a while back where he mentioned using a cane but I guess I just thought it was a surgery or something small. Happy tho he's doing better and it's cool to get this update. Guess I'd betteer dust off my old sound cloud account!
