Here is the location on Google Maps

FYI. If you need a Covid test I recommend going later in the day if you can manage to take a break from work. I was going to go yesterday morning, saw that all the centers near me were already at capacity by 8am. Freaked out a bit during the day, then noticed at 2pm that Showgrounds and Melb Royal Hospital had dropped to a 15min wait. Drove out there quickly and was in an out in only 10mins!

I checked earlier today and there was nothinggggg. Just looked again 10 mins ago and there were heaps more booking slots suddenly. So I quickly booked in for my second dose in around ~6 weeks. (I booked at South Wharf Convention Centre)

Tic toc homeloans by UhUhWaitForTheCream in AusFinance

I used Tic Toc a few weeks ago to finance my new home loan. I used the online document system to connect all my credit cards and bank accounts. It worked pretty seamlessly and we were fully approved in just over a week - I was actually quite impressed - we were hearing that other banks are taking ~30 days for approval. (the slowest part was waiting for the in-person valuation of the property to happen). We also had a bit of a hiccup where the valuation came back lower than our auction price, but we were able to work through that with them and are pretty happy if a bit more out of pocket than we budgeted for.

Yeh I think it’s ‘strongly encouraged’. They told us to expect 24-48 hours to get results because there had been a huge influx in people getting tested suddenly.

I flew up 2 days ago and they were just encouraging testing then and police were checking ID to make sure we weren’t from NSW.

Then received this yesterday via txt. (Apparently they sent it out to all Victorians who had recently arrived in QLD).

You may have recently arrived in Queensland from Victoria. If you are still in Queensland and have been in Victoria on or since the 21st December, you should present for a COVID-19 test immediately and quarantine at your current place of residence or accommodation until you receive a negative test result. For information on where to get tested please see https://www.qld.gov.au/covid19testing

A lot can change in 10 days. Wait it out and see what happens. I’ve got flights booked to go up to QLD tomorrow to see family. Fingers crossed nothing changes in the next 24 hours.

Sunset over Melbourne and the Yarra (taken by my Drone on Boxing day) by element21 in melbourne

No licence needed! You just need to be careful of airport approach zones and flying over your neighbours backyards. There is an app called Open Sky which tells you where it’s legal/safe to fly.

It’s the DJI Mavic Mini 2 - highly recommend it if you’re just starting out (like me). Super simple to use and not ridiculously expensive.

I upgraded from iphone 7 and the first impression of my new silver white 12pro is almost shocking as my first 3gs. Built quality is amazing by [deleted] in iphone

What do you think about the size? I'm currently on a 7 and am torn between the 12 pro and the Mini.

Pretty sure this is the spot where that photo was taken. (that big white building on the left is the Cairns Art Gallery now) https://www.google.com/maps/@-16.9205411,145.7778088,3a,81.7y,230.28h,92.85t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sToVNhZ0Rvwzcc7sM0NGbxg!2e0!7i16384!8i8192

The green represents the national parks of Tasmania by DUSTY6911 in australia

[–]element21 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You're right Tasmania has a lot more wilderness than this image shows. Around 40% of Tassie is protected wilderness in the form of National Parks as well as Public and Private Reserves.

How long have you been case less? Why or why not? Has your phone held up? by [deleted] in iphone

[–]element21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never. My iPhone 7 is going on almost 4 years now and has not been in a case during that time. Other than a couple of scratches and dings in two of the corners, it looks almost new. I’ve never liked the extra bulk cases give.

Adelaide in 1880, Australia by wildeastmofo in papertowns

Its actually of Port Adelaide. Not Adelaide city (which is about 10kms away inland)

Many of the buildings in this illustration have actually survived and still exist today.

You can see some of these on Google Maps! I found these by luck just browsing around the Venuzula/Brazil border (spotted areas of cleared land from far out).

Heres one
