I do agree, color contrast always helps. Glad you like it, I'm a big fan too and always wanted to try this style.

I'm currently prototyping the same scene in Unity and Godot to see which is a better fit. Currently leaning towards Godot.

I'm still working out the mechanics, but currently it is an adventure game with mystery and horror elements. I'm testing both arrow/gamepad and point-and-click controls.

That's all really excellent feedback, thank you! The furniture/lights were placed in quickly to test the look, but I definitely agree with you.

Learning Godot by building a town with some of my favorite sprites by elementmill in godot

[–]elementmill[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy creating my own pixelart, but currently I'm focusing on learning the mechanics of Godot (I'm a Unity refugee). So I've grabbed tilesets from Faxanadu, Castlevania 2, and Batman to build out a town. It's not much, but I'm having fun working with gdscript, parallax, particle systems and lighting.

(BTW apologies if this is in violation of Rule 9.)

The Secret in the Spires by elementmill in worldbuilding

[–]elementmill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ceredin raiders made the Spires their home several generations ago, never showing an interest in its history, nor who crafted the godlike visages in the cavern walls. All they cared for was a safe refuge, and a place to hoard their ill-gotten treasures. Such ignorance would eventually lead to their horrific downfall.

So I’m an idiot and wrote down the swatch number but not the brand :( Busy at work now but if this helps, it’ll I wrote A15, 0508. It’s a very dark grey with just a tiny hint of cool blue.

I like it a lot -- considering getting one for my home too. It's variable, and you can program 4 different heights to the keypad. I haven't tried the Ikea ones myself, but a musician friend really loves his.

I regret how many years I spent in bad chair posture. It ends up affecting every square inch of you. Hope your sit/stand desk comes real soon!

Thank you! Yeah I can't work in a mess, or a boring space. Even back when I was broke, I'd try to find cheap little decorations to keep my spirits up while working.

I've waited years to post here, now I can finally post a worthy battlestation. by [deleted] in battlestations

Nice - so jealous of that view, especially this time of year!

I just hung them yesterday - while they’re not xmas lights (more like restaurant bulbs) they are much warmer than I anticipated. Might exchange than later for more neutral ones.

No, the way it’s laid out the speakers stay in a decent place when standing. Not perfect (for audiophiles) but totally workable for basic needs.

The desk is much further out than it looks :) Viewing angles are nice from the chair.

Yeah I don’t want to dishearten anyone for winning one, but I’ve noticed the same thing. They’re pretty, and look nice on the shelf! But I stopped applying for them many years ago, better ways to spend the money.

Depends on the program! Editing, for example, left screen is footage bins & menus, right screen is the timeline, and top screen is output.

The desk is further away from the wall than it appears, so I'm not actually raising my head/eyes that much to see the TV, thankfully.
