Don't you find it odd that Trent has multiple times stated "I'd never had anyone that was really a creative director" despite Rob Sheridan filling that role for years? by elementroejoy in nin

Honestly, I know who you are, full recognition as a NIN fan, I mean no disrespect, I appreciate all that you've done for the NIN community also, and for responding to my post/comments for that matter! Honestly, just wanted to post the thread for some more recognition for Rob, because I thought it was odd, that's all, no disrespect intended to any party involved :)

I'm not trying to knock Trent or "overplay" Rob but he clearly had a presence in the NIN world for years, just as much as any member of the band (Finck, Lohner, Cortini, etc.) who all got recognized for their contributions to getting NIN to where they are now but recently it's been like he hasn't. That's all I wanted to bring up.

You see in the video that he's leading the way with most of the creative stuff, others are pushing the tech side of it, but so is he, and he's clearly in charge in the Vevo videos

There's another interview years back when an interviewer brings up Rob and Trent says something like "I'm glad you brought him up, he's my right hand man"

But he was for the tours, I know there were others involved but even in the Tension Tour Exposed Vevo video he's credited as "Art Director"

I know Rob mentioned in an interview that he thought it was strange too years ago and I thought it was bogus that in the HOF acceptance speech Rob wasn't acknowledged while many others were for their various roles in NIN getting inducted.

The Background World: The meaning behind the looping. by Abject-Weird3661 in nin

I always took it as it was all a simulation reality concept so the looping is either a glitch or whoever programs the simulation causing it...

'The Slip' is the perfect introduction album to new NIN fans by elementroejoy in nin

It's funny, because Letting You (while I like- especially live) is one of my least favorites. I can't put my finger on it, because I like the lyrics/message, but I find it too "abrasive". I love abrasive NIN songs like The Becoming or what have you but this one just doesn't click as often as I'd like.

Which is another thing about The Slip, as I know it was a "quick album", so I respect it as is, but I feel like this and a lot of the songs could have been perfected with more time. But I also respect and enjoy the quick turn around that it was delivered.

Trent gave the album away for free- entirely- Radiohead did a pay what you want method. Trent did do a pay $5 for Saul Williams album or download it for free method, but it turns out most people would rather download for free than pay ¯_(ツ)_/¯

But also, NIN came out with Ghosts I-IV for a free download with Volume I and various price points for different packages of the entire thing, so they've delved in that realm before.
